Hello ladies,
I'm 14 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby, and I'm sure that I can feel the baby move! Although every book/website i've read said that 2nd time mums-to-be usually feel the baby from 16 weeks. So do you think that it's possible to feel the baby move at 14 weeks - or could it just be my tummy rumbling or something?
Has anyone else felt their baby this early?
Thanks in advance for any replies. xx

totally possible, i am pretty sure I felt DS2 at just under 12 weeks.

Hey there, i am 18 weeks with no 2 and have def been feeling it moving since 14 weeks (maybe even slightly before that)it really surprised me at first and i didn't believe it!

asampras · 12/05/2010 20:44

absolutely, i'm a second time mum and at 13 weeks i could feel a kind of 'churning' feeling which i don't think the would have recognised the first time round, and by 14 weeks i was feeling definite movements. With my first i only started feeling 'butterfly wings' at 16 weeks. I didn't get 'butter fly wings' this time round it was pokes and tiny kicks!

Thanks so much for your replies. I'd forgotten how exciting it is to feel baby move for the first time, so I was desperate to know if that's what it was! Thanks for the confirmation, very much appreciated!

I def did at 14 weeks - but don't be alarmed if you don't feel them every day, there's lots of room to move about in at that stage, and I only felt them really low down.

i felt my DD2 at around 14-15weeks and DD3 from 13-14weeks (currentl 35weeks), def just flutterings, but when you know what your feeling for, its much easier to not confuse it with tummy rumblings

moonstorm · 12/05/2010 22:27

My midwife said from 14 weeks for 2nd time x

Ah, how lovely to feel movement already. Am 18 weeks and only just started getting definate movements, been on the look out for weeks!

elnmummy · 13/05/2010 07:00

Hi
I am sure I felt DD2 at about 13 weeks; it's an unmistakeable feeling that once you've felt it once you know what it is the 2nd time around!
Enjoy!

DomesticG0ddess · 13/05/2010 08:30

I am 17 weeks now and definitely felt it when I was 13 weeks. I felt DS at 15 weeks, so that would make sense.

MrsB2B · 13/05/2010 10:02

I am 13 weeks with 3rd and can definately feel those unmistakeable movements of baby, think its hard to mistake them for anything else once you know what your looking for xx

mamasunshine · 13/05/2010 13:24

Yes I felt fluttering with ds2 at less than that!!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 13/05/2010 13:33

I felt my second at about 11 or 12 weeks. It was just the tiniest pulsing sensation now and then when I was very still and quiet. I thought it was my pulse until I realised it wasn't that rhythmical!

and the sensations just continued and got stronger and eventually turned into kicks so I know it definitely was the baby even though my consultant laughed when I said I'd felt movements and told me I wouldn't feel anything til at least 18 weeks (I'd felt my first baby at 17 weeks!)

Wonder how many babies he's carried in his uterus, eh?

Nymphadora · 13/05/2010 13:40

DC3 been quite active since 14 weeks. AM 17 now and certainly have some decent kicks and spins.

jbakedbean · 14/05/2010 20:59

agree, my number 2 could be felt at 14 weeks, and had me quite worried when it went a bit quiet at 16 weeks, but it's madly busy kicking my bladder again so all is well, i think....
