Putting on too much weight

I'm 31 week PG, expecting my 3rd child. The last check up, I put on my weight nearly 3 stones already. I was healthly size 10/12 at the beginning of the PG. I asked about this to my consaltant last Monday and she wasn't worried too much as the baby is ok size, but told me that try to eat low GI food as I seem to eating too much carb.

I just feel hugry a lot of the time and I try eat sensibly but it's hard. I don't eat junk food too much but loves fruits, bread, rice, etc.

Is anything I could eat without feeling guilty? I don't want to put more weight from now on as it would be difficult to lose it after baby's birth.

Any suggestion please!

I put on 4 and a half stone with DD which moved me from a size 10/12 to goodness what. However a fortnight after the birth 2 and a half of it had gone (fluid, baby etc) 2 months later i'd lost another 7 ilb without really trying then i joined weightwatchers and lost the rest in 6 weeks. It has to be said i didn't eat that sensibly, i ate exactly what i wanted and took the attitude that i might as well enjoy the food as i was going to be fat anyway (this time i have Hyperemesis so am struggling to put on any) - after all that waffling the point is it came off again easily enough so i wouldn't worry too much.

Unfortunately, I put 5 stone in my first pregnancy and went from size 14 to size 20, 2 years on I a still have almost 2 stone on me and stuck in size 16-18. Being second time pregnant and heavily overweight, I am managing my weight by trying not to eat sweets, more veggies and fruits, less meat and carbs. If carbs, than try wholemeal. I notice that sweets hugely increase my appetite for everything, and cutting out them helped a lot to control the appetite. And also, try a couple of days of eating a bit less (but not starving), and your body will adjust itself to being less hungry.
If I hungry, I love tomatoes, apples, sugar-free oat biscuits, german rye bread, cottage cheese or piece of grilled fish/lean meat with loads of salad. As a result I haven?t gained any weight yet and I am almost 15 weeks now. Good luck!

Hi Hevster & Toja555, sorry for late reply.
I think I put on 3 stone at this stage. As Hevser said, hopefully I can manage to shed after giving birth!

toja555, you are very sensible to eat less this time around. I will try tomatoes, apples, sugar free oat biscits etc. I still feel hungry a lot of time but I'm trying eat less. I feel so huge now with my excess weight but another 8weeks to go, so I hope i won't put on so much weight from now on...

good luck & thanks x
