you've not been off sex completely then?!

i think they look the same - the difference being that a real positive appears within the timelines of the test (e.g. within a few minutes) and an evap line is not visible til later.

An evap line is said to have no colour and be after the alted time fr a result.

lol, well ive been having faint lines on quite a few tests, we had sex about 2 weeks ago, and wernt too careful!! my god i worry about so much and this mumsnet is amazing, the lines im seeing do have colour to them but appear later, some appeared after 15 mins others half an hour x

An evap usually is greish and shadowy although i have had internet cheapies that came in strips and when it appeared to 'flood' the dye stayed pink in the background and there were two obvious lines there - and i wasnt pg, this has happened to me 4 times. Suffice to say i dont use internet cheapy strips anymore (only the plastic covered ones).

its so confusing!! and so heartbreaking, i hate taking them now because i just dont know! i havnt used internet ones always plastic ones, id love to be pregnant again so its killing me x

Oh I hate that stage, when you're desperate to know if you're pregnant and you know the only sensible thing to do is to wait and test a few days later but it's just impossible to wait!
With this pregnancy I had some tests come up +ve 1-2 mins after the time limit at the very beginning - 15mins/half hr sounds a bit long though...

Have you tried a FR? They generally don't do evap lines (I think) and are v. sensitive. I also like superdrug's own early test - got a clear +ve on those at 10DPO when I was still squinting at the faint line on the FR... and they're cheaper.

rosieposey · 12/05/2010 13:19

I would say you are pg as you are saying 'them' which means youve done more than one and you wont usually get more than one evap lines as they are fairly uncommon flukes - they are taking a while to come up because it sounds like you are very newly pg - congrats

eck?? ya think?? oh god i hope so, maybe i should wait till about friday and test again?? x

sorry to hear that - really am surprised though as getting a few evap lines in a row is very unusual. Good luck for next time though.
