My daughter is pregnant and im a bit concerned about her. Around 6 - 8 weeks she was being quite sick holding down very little food but she has turned 10 weeks today and she has had no sickness for a few days. Im just wandering can it be normal to stop sickness so early or is it a bad sign the pregnany is not going as well as it should. Thanks for your thoughts

it sounds perfectly normal, everyones pregnancy hormones have different timings and effects on the body, some people have perfectly normal and healthy pregnancies with no sickness at all, and some with hyperemesis. i wouldnt take the sickness going as a sign that anything is wrong (unless she is getting cramping and bleeding). sounds like the hormones are doing their thing and easing off, id just be happy that the sickness is easing up and she can get back to eating a bit more normally now

i wouldnt worry too much, the lack of sickness isnt a bad sign, its just hormones and everyones body reacts differently to them at the different pregnancy stages (that can be fromm day to day!)

My sickness was worst between 6 and 9 weeks, and eased from 10 weeks - but I was sick intermittently til 16 weeks! Sometimes I would have a few good days and wind myself up worrying something was wrong, but then it would come back with a vengeance.

I remember having 4 completely sick free days at exactly 10 weeks and thinking oh dear what is going wrong? however sickness came back 4 days later...it is quite common to have up and down days unfortunately.

My sickness only lasted 3 weeks in total, from about 6 weeks to 9 weeks ish. By 10 weeks it was gone totally (vanished almost overnight). I am now 35+2 and everything appears normal for me, so sickness can stop this early IME.

lucky girl - sounds normal but I'm 38+ weeks and still vomiting so it does vary a lot!
