I have decided i'm buying Canesten Pessary as i have bad thrush and can not wait till Monday.

I have been reading to not use the applicator when pregnant. I just wondered what damage can be done if i did? I'm 38 weeks pregnant.

Thanks x

i would suggest going to the doctors or asking the pharmacist before buying, they should be able to give you the right instructions on what to do in this late stage!

I've used them 4 times so far (now 35+5) as struggled to get rid of it. GP and midwife both said either use finger or do not push applicator right in, risk of causing damage to more susceptible cervix.

I personally used applicator each time VERY carefully and had no problem.

Just as a point, it may be worth seeing GP anyway - I got best relief when used 3 pessaries on consecutive nights as prescribed by GP, much more effective.
Hope that helps.

I used them in my last pregnancy late on and just didnt use the applicator. Might sound wierd now but my husband did it for me as i couldnt reach properly!.

My midwife advised that I used a pessary and it cleared it up totally (she said that creams just don't work if it's futher "up").

I asked the pharmacist if it was ok in pregnancy, just to double check - and they were fine with it too.

I hadn't actually read that you weren't supposed to so it might have made me think twice if I had known that...
