few days ago the consultant finally put me on the injection blood thinners (im immobile and had the stockings on for a couple months now).

once a day, a little jab, shouldnt be too difficult, but im finding it hard, im not rubbing the injection site like ive been told, but im still bruising and im starting to look like a pin cushion!!!

me I am! but twice a day and have done this for 3 pregnancies now from the very beginning!

I still bruise every now and then depending on where I hit but its prob one in every 4 or so injections. My best advice is find a really good bit of fat ( bit gross sorry!) and also experiment with injection sites I have found that some areas of my tummy are worse than others for pain and bruising.
Later on I will switch to doing it in my thigh or bottom (side of is that makes sense the bit I can reach!) and its all worth it in the end for a healthy mummy and baby.

what other injection sites did you find? i can only think of the stomach (well love handles obviously lol).

i cant do my thighs as i have SPD and taking my trousers on and off to do it is too painful!

im not a skinny person, but theres not many places i can think to reach myself, i def cant reach my bum!

^ im 35 weeks pregnant and have quite a tight bump despite not being skinny, my love handles are awkward to reach as it is!

Im 3 weeks post delivery and have been on blood thinners since 16 weeks..I am lucky in that I had a nice apron of skin under my bump!..but as my bump grew I had to ask DH to inject me..I tended to go for my love handles and swapped sides each day, grabbing the flesh really tight seemed to reduce bruising and yes, dont rub afterwards..even though it stings like blazes

yeah it seems to have bruised slightly less the times ive grabbed the bit of flesh harder..lol
