37 weeks and worried older DC with chicken pox

I am 37+3 weeks pregnant with DC3. I have just discovered that My DD has chicken pox and Iam now waiting for DS1 to catch it from her. I am worried what are the risks to DC3 if he were to be born within the next few days or weeks?
I have had chicken pox so I know there are no risks to baby whilst I am still pregnant.
The reason I am worried is because baby is head down and very low in my pelvis according to the doctor at the hospital and for the last few days have been having lots of backache and Bx contractions. I just hope baby stays put until DS 1 gets chicken pox and is over the contagious stage.

Are you planning on breastfeeding? You would pass on antibodies if so to top up the ones baby will be born with. Not sure if it would make baby immune to CP but would certainly help recovery.

Yes I am planning to breastfeed. So I hope that will help if baby is born before whilst my other two are still infectious.

You can get the chicken pox vaccine. I was just at the GP yesterday and was discussing the vaccine and it is offered to high risk groups, including pregnant women exposed to it, and siblings of children getting chemotherapy.

It's on the NHS web site under, 'who can get chicken pox vaccine...'

I'd get it sooner rather than later.

Also - as far as i know the contagious period is actually well prior to before the pustules appear. So if the youngest has 'broken out' as such - i would think that dear baby will have a good chance of missing it..
