Has anyone had a sweep with second baby?

I have a an appointment with my midwife in 2 weeks when i will be 39 + 4 days with my second baby and she said i will get an internal and a sweep if i want it.

I just wondered if anyone had a sweep with their second baby and was it effective?

Still nothing doing here - except the prebaby blues are well and truly kicking in. I could handle the wait but having spent so much time educating myself on all the things that could happen, I completely ignored the possibility I would go so far overdue. If someone could tell me why she's not ready to come out yet and that it would be at least another week then I would be fine but the longer I go, the more I can't help but worry. Is she ok? Will she go into distress without my knowing about it? Is all this waiting pointless when I could be just cuddling my LO already? Will I end up with the dreaded induction anyway?

I watched an episode of Portland babies last night and this american woman said, "my waters broke at 1.30 so we came in about 3.30 but contractions have died down. I'm hoping for an epidural when the contractions come back but a mobile one because I want to feel connected to the baby " I watched as she had the hormones, then the drip, then the epidural, then the forceps, then the delighted grin on her face after her pain free beautiful birth and wondered if I'm making life hard for myself!

Sorry, grumbling rant. How are you feeling today? I'm without DD1 today so have the whole day to fill (without moping around the house hopefully!)Any more rumblings for you?
