Ok bit weird I know but can anyone answer -

I know that pregnant woman should not touch sheep or lambs but is there any advice on handling hens?! Is it ok when pregnant or not?

I was advised by midwife to either wear gloves or get dh to clean them out!! I don't know that there is anything in particular but obviously handling any livestock and potentially their faeces must carry risk of infection.

not sure, but common sense would say wash hands after touching and get someone else to muck them out!

Gert someone else to clean em out - it's the dust, poo etc that circulates when cleaning them - can go into your lungs and give you an infection.
