Hi.Just wondering if any one else out there is waiting for amnio results? could do with some company!! I had the triple test which came back with a 1 in 40 risk of Downs syndome.Such a shock because im 30 and stupidly expected all to be ok as with my other 2 children. We then had a week of waiting to be scanned to look for soft markers. All looked fab on the scan.In fact the sonographer said she would have sent us home saying all was well and no problems detected if it wasnt for my results. Then had to decide if we wanted the amnio. We decided to go ahead, and i had it yesterday. We know that whatever the results are we are going ahead with the pregnancy. But im still a nervous wreck.Anyone else a bag of nerves out there?!! xx

I had an amnio last week- my bloods came back 1 in 65, and I am 38, (dc3), so dh and i thought it best this time. It is very stressful, i hope you are getting your results this week (the fast track ones). Mine came back fine, but it does shake you up a bit. It was a nice bonus to see the baby on scan again, though
Try not to worry- the odds are very much stacked in your favour. All the best xx

Can I ask, after having the amnio test were you advised to rest for the next week? I am having the triple blood test on the 17th as I missed the nuchal scan, I am 33 and am trying to mentally prepare for all options. I'm only just having my first scan on Monday at 15wks. Any advice would be grateful.

Fingers crossed for you both. xx

Hi, no the advice was to rest and avoid lifting or driving for 24/48 hrs. I feel absolutley fine today, just a little bit achy. They give you a list of things to look out for such as cramps( apparently these are really normal but I haven't experienced any) bleeding, leaking of fluid, or flu like symptoms- Also, quite rare I think but obviously each woman is different. If you do end up having one then try and be as relaxed as you can- it helps alot. Good luck, feel free to ask whatever you want- I promise i'd very honest with u- take care xx

Hi, I am not having amnio but yesterday I was quite worried after my nuchal scan and I honestly sympathize with your anxiety waiting for the results. I am 13+6 and my nuchal came out 2.7mm which I though was on the upper high, although the nurse didn?t seem to be bothered. I am now waiting for blood test results? either a call within one week or a letter within 2 weeks? ufff that?s is a long and stressful time when you want to make sure that the baby is fine.. Good luck with results to everyone!

Just to say I had our results tonight and all was fine. No signs of downs, Edwards syndrome or pateau syndrome. There are alot of false positives with the triple blood tests, so try not to worry too much- good luck xxx
