I am 11 weeks and a bit pregnant and am shattered! I mean ridiculously, can barely move tired.
I go to sleep at 9pm most nights and am up about three times in the night weeing and then finally the alarm goes off at 6.30am so I am getting a fair amount of sleep apart from the bathroom disruptions, but after having a shower I feel like I need to go back to bed again! Getting ready for work is a monumental task and by the time I've managed it, I can't believe I still have to drive to work and then actually do some work....

I have just reduced my days to 4 a week and will be leaving work at 4.30pm from now on which is something, but is anyone else feeling as dog tired as me?

The morning sickness just about did me in and is still hanging around (can't cook anything, can only eat out at lunch, feel sick still in the evenings)but am I ever going to feel normal, or is feeling normal in pregnancy unrealistic?

Yes. I was going to bed at the same time as my kids a few weeks ago. Now I have got to 9pm and sometimes later. Am still sleeping in the day on my days off though!

Am 16 weeks and wasn't likethat in previous pregnancies.

Am 27 weeks now and still completely exhausted. I was tired when preg with ds but not this bad.

Make sure you have blood test to check for anaemia as that can make you more tired than normal. Or like me it could jsut be one of those things. For some people it does ease in the second trimester.

Apart from that try adn get your dp to take over as much as possible adn rest when you can.

HAve to admit that 9pm here is a late night for me at the mo - more like 7pm

I nap during day when not at work and dh has taken over the majority of housework/cooking/cleaning and childcare.

Me! I can barely stay awake. I told a friend I was pregnant and she said 'oh the tiredness will kick in soon!' I thought - more??

I am just giving in to it as much as possible. I have flexi at work so have been leaving early where I can. I also have bought some convenience type foods so I can cook quickly and get to bed early with no faffing. I am hoping it passes soon.

Hey ladies,

I am currently 15+3, and so tired all the time too, I lack motivation, even with everyday tasks such as washing, tidying, popping into town etc. due to go back to work after my annual leave next week, and dreading it. very difficult place at the moment. which makes it even more tiring!

also is anyone else experiencing itchy/dry/ and breakouts? i just feel so lifeless and dull!!! x

Harri2010 · 03/05/2010 17:09

I was utterly exhausted until about 16 weeks, sleeping 10 hours at night and having a 2 hour nap in the afternoon at weekends! It does get better in the middle, though never had the blooming experience.

Currently 35 weeks and my current level of fatigue at work makes the first trimester look easy!! Still only 2 weeks to go and you get an awful lot more sympathy once you have a big bump.

Nothing helps except sleep.

Freeasabird - skin suddenly becomes fab from about the 20th week onwards!

Best of luck ladies

Freeasabird58 · 03/05/2010 17:20

Yeah I have to have my afternoon naps too! sometimes i feel worse for it though!!

Oh thanks Harri, I hope the skin does get better from week 20 onwards! i hope i get a "glow" did any one else?

Bumperliouzzzzzz · 03/05/2010 18:47

Sympathies to all, am 20 weeks and absolutely knackered. Haven't slept a full night since about 6 weeks in. The morning sickness passed by about 15 weeks, thank God.

I have had my hours reduced on medical grounds at work. Was doing 8.5, now I just have to do between 5 and 7 and the remainder will be added up and counted as sick leave. Better than me being signed off sick for weeks. And it really is just down to tiredness. Am finally sleeping a bit better but still feel knackered, I think I've got a bit to catch up on.

Hope you feel better soon. Pregnancy just hits some of us harder than others.

daisystone · 04/05/2010 07:39

so it's most of us then!

my poor husband is doing everything at the moment, including finishing renovating our home in time for the birth. I lie in bed like a slug and barely get out of my pyjamas at the weekend!

Fell asleep yesterday at 4:30pm and woke up for a drink & toilet at 8pm then straight back to sleep until this am. Am totally exhausted and can't do anything other than sit. Just waiting to phone in sick as there is no way I'm safe to drive.
