He has fallen with his full weight onto me while I was sitting on the sofa (and he was climbing on it). It didn't really hurt but he is pretty heavy and am now freaking out thinking of my poor little mouse-sized foetus (am 16+3) being squashed in there!
Am I being ridiculous?
Am seeing MW on Tuesday when presumably she will be checking for heartbeat in any case. And no-one will do anything before Tuesday, it being a bank hol weekend and all, right? So no point worrying about it till then?

You'll be fine, especially with such a young baby in there. The baby will be still quite low, surrounded by shock absorbing fluid, the wall of the womb, the bony frame of the pelvis, your strong thick abdominal muscles and any fat you have on your tummy.

Unless he landed knee first with his full weight directly on the baby it's highly unlikely any damage will have occured, especially if it didn't hurt you much.

Don't freak out, happens to us all. Call midwife immediately if any bleeding or cramps, or if you are worried still.

It's worrying but the baby well cushioned in there.

Oh I feel for you - ds kicked me in the stomach (he was in a shopping trolley and wearing boots) quite heavily twice when I was 16 weeks pregnant and I was so worried. I called for advice at the time and they said the baby would be well protected by the pelvis still and not to worry but the antenatal unit would be happy to see me and listen for a heartbeat if I wanted. I did get a midwife to listen a few days later and it helped reassure me enormously.

Am 38 weeks now and all scans etc have been fine. I'm sure it will all be fine for you also.

im 34 weeks and DD kicked me, i rang the assement unit on our maternity unit and they were very helpful and put my mind at rest, that everything will be ok and baby is well pretected, however the midwive i spoke to did ask me to check on my notes to where my placenta is,

like mumnwlondon said as long as no bleeding or cramps, then should be fine, however if you do have an assesment unit that you can call then i would just to ease you abit

Thanks for the reassurance. Still a bit worried but calming down a bit. He fell on his bottom so at least not a knee or elbow. Somehow seems more worrying when baby is so very tiny but yes I see that this is good as it means it is more cushioned in there.
