False Negative Pregnancy Test

Help! Is there anyone out there who has had two negative pregnancy tests but found out they were pregnant? I am now 11 days late, normally regular, by boobs are so tender and huge and my stomach is that bloated I can hardly do up my trousers. I already have one child and feel I know the signs but the result keeps saying positive, I would really love to hear from anyone who found themselves in the same situation. I am soooooooo frustrated!

Further to last message, I mean the test keeps saying negative, see this is how I have been last time I was pregnant I became so clumsy and couldn't think straight and it's definitely happening again!!!!

Have you tried a different brand of pregnancy test? Boots is supposed to be quite sensitive.

I think false negatives are certainly not unheard of and account for all of the inaccuracy rate quoted for the test. It's false positives that do not occur.

Go to the doctors and give them a sample or alternatively they make take blood from you just to confirm

I have spoken to the nurse at the practice today and she suggested I wait for about another 10 - 14 days!!!!! and do it again as she said the doctors results take that long to come back. I have heard a lot about the boots brand so I will get one of those to try tomorrow morning. I was using clearblue though, I thought they were quite good.

I've always got good "day of period" results from Clearblue. I would have thought that 11 days late would give a good result. Good luck with the next test...

I have always used Clearblue and they were able to detect that I was pregnant on the day my period was due.

Thanks soupdragon, I suppose I just need to be more patient, I just wish I knew now either way.

If I'm not pregnant then my period had better come soon because I really do feel about to burst

I do think all the tests are much of a muchness. All very accurate!

I had two negative results, was about 1 week late, then was very ill with stomach pains, so the doctor ordered a pregnancy test from the hospital and yes I was pregnant. So it can happen. The next time I just went straight to the doctors, but I lost that baby, and with DD1 I used a clear blue test and it pick it up.

fio2 · 03/07/2003 15:59

I had a negative test with my dd-how wrong it was...

M2T · 03/07/2003 16:05

I had a negative test just before me period was due, then I waited 3 weeks and got a positive. Good luck AL30....

whispers< I think you can be quietly confident that you are pregnant.
