Phil & Ted's Dash query

Help please.....

I've just bought a Phil & Ted's dash as we have baby no 2 coming along in Sept and DS1 will be 2 years 5mths.

Anyhoo I put it all together because I wanted to check all was ok and when I put the double kit on the front so that the baby can lie flat when it's first born my toddler doesn't fit, and he's only just turned 2. So in a few months time he's got no chance. There doesn't seem to be any other way that the baby can lie flat with the seat so it will be absolutely no use.

Has anyone else got one? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

what do you mean he doesn't fit?

too tall to go under the hood?

TTTrouble · 30/04/2010 20:59

Yes he's too tall and he's not a tall boy for his age, pretty much average I would say.

oh no, i am panicing now, have not tried setting my E3 up for baby and toddler and i have a large toddler, will let you know how i get on

we couldn't have one when we had DD3 as DD2 was also too tall - the woman in the shop helpfully suggested that we popped her head through the viewing window thingy in the hood

won't be an option this time either as DD3 also tall

I was offered one, second hand but had same prob, I have a tall 2year old and DC2 not due til August so was absolutely no way he would fit in it.
Shame coz its a lovely pushchair, Ive had to go with a side by side maclaran

on my P&T sport double seat there are poppers that you can undo and then the seat goes a bit lower

it was still tight for my tall 2 year old though

I had an E3. DC1 is 16 months from DC2 and was tall at 2 but we never had a problem. It was summer when dc2 was born and i don't recall ever having the lid down much and I do recall dc1 making a lot of fuss if we had to use the raincover. i think he found it a bit close.
Imho Phil and teds are really only any good if your chidren are really close together as the little seat has a weight limit of 15kg. I do love mine though and will be getting it out to use as a single for dc3 .

tried my E3 out this morning and have to report that DD is too tall, will be fine if we don't need to use the rain cover or put the hood up but if it's wet then def a no no. Still i guess we will have had 3 years use out of it by the time LO arrives TTTrouble have to conclude you're not doing it wrong - sorry

Thanks for all your replies. I tried it again today & DS will definitely be unhappy with the hood up so it's going to have to go back I think. I thought this is what they are built for so I am very dissapointed, I originally tried DS in the Vibe and he fit in that one as it has two positions so I might have to look out for a second hand one of those.
