"24 week" midwife appointment

Hi all

My midwife is only available on Wednesday aftenoons and due to work commitments it looks like I won't be able to see her next until I'm 28 weeks.

Do you think this matters? Will I miss anything essential? Obviously if I've got any concerns in the meantime I'll seek help!

For second or subsequent pregnancies it is not routine to see HCP at week 24 anyway iirc.

Why not give your mw a call and ask?

Thanks. It's my first pregnancy but it's good to hear it's not an essential appointment. I don't actually have a number for my midwife (hopefully not a problem in future!) but I've spoken to the surgery who seem to think this is fine.

If you work, I think you need to get your matb1 form from your midwife/gp at around 24 weeks. And maybe the paperwork for the HealthIn Pregnancy grant? Also, although erything is probably fine, she should be checking your blood pressure, urine sample, etc. I'd press for an earlier appointment or to see your gp to be honest.

PS, I know yousay you have work comitments but you do have the legal right to take time off (paid) for ante-natal appointments.

I agree with bellabelly - where I work I need to get either an obstetrician or my midwife to complete and sign my matb1 form at between 20 and 25 weeks. Earlier or later is apparently no good!
I've found my midwife can be a little vague at times so although I do have an appointment at around 24 weeks I'm going to ring her and ask her to complete it when I hit 20 weeks (this Friday!) Then I'll just pop down to the surgery and pick it up at some convenient point.
