I'm 38 weeks, thought I had a show, turned out it wasn't but I nearly had a panic attack when I thought it was one. This isn't good, what on earth can I do to calm down?

I imagine you've had time to calm down by now but didn't want to leave this unanswered. Relax, it wasn't a show, all is well. (Although am secretly very of you - am 40wks today and still no sign of baby on the way). If I thought I'd had a show at 38wks I'd have been doing a merry little jig and downing raspberry leaf tea. Good luck for when it does happen, and you'll be fine

don't worry about it,you're term, and you can have a show up to two weeks before baby appears, anyway!
yup,me too am 40+1...have been waiting since 38 weeks after a false start!!seems like an eternity...good luck to you both

What are you anxious about - that could be causing these feelings?

If your anxious about labour, Im sure that is fairly common - have you discussed your fears with a health professional or your partner?

Dont be scared, its amazing, you'll see your baby soon

Thanks all, I feel like an idiot but basically I'm terrified of going into labour, I've built it up into a massive thing in my head and now I'm absolutely terrified. When I thought it was a show my stomach lurched and my heart raced, I thought I'd throw up.
