Ok, so the pains are back

Started Tuesday evening, all day yesterday. Back again today. They hurt enough for me to take codeine every 4 hours, and they feel like tightenings around my bump and across lower back. Also getting pains in my ladybits .

Could it be another water infection do you think?

I started timing them (just in case) and heres the times I got them.

Do you think I should ring the hospital again or just keep taking the codeine and managing it that way? You may remember I was admitted last week because of bump pains, and it turned out to be a water infection - wondering if it's the same this time?

Sorry to bug you all - I must sound like a right worrier!!

They couldn't be contractions surely?

I'd know wouldn't I??

This is my 3rd baby

As a mother of 2 premature babies I'm ordering you ( in the nicest possible way) to get thee to a hospital.

It's probably nothing but if there us a tiniest chance it us somthing starting then it's worth going in even if just to put your mind at rest ?

Are you on trimethroprim for the uti ? I took it with ds and it made me feel bloody awful.

Hope your ok

CherryPie3 · 29/04/2010 16:54

They gave a course of Cefradine to take, which I did - the course ended on Sunday.

They gave me 2 jabs of steroids last week just in case I went into labour. Tjose injection sting!!

I'm going to ring dh now and tell him - I just wanted soke advice first as I don't like worrying him anymore than necessary - I should've known really, after last week I packed a hospital bag, you know....just in case

Thanks you for replying

Those

Clearly brain is fuddled!

OP posts:
WorzselMummage · 29/04/2010 16:58

The steroids really do sting don't they!

Hopefully it's nothing but if if it is kicking off they might be able to stop it at hospital, no chance if you stay at home worrying.

My DS was a 27 weeker, he's watching cinderella with his sister at the moment, they picture of health

As horrible as this sounds though, I hope it is just a UTI I am sure you know what i mean !

CherryPie3 · 29/04/2010 17:05

I know, I;ve just posted to my ante-natal thread ladies that I'm hoping for it to be a UTI

I hope I don't offend you in asking but were your labours spontaneous?

You don't have to answer - I realise that is quite a personal question.

seconding Worzel here. Just ring labour ward and go go go and be checked

WorzselMummage · 29/04/2010 17:13

I dont mind you asking at all.

I am an obstetric nightmare. Spontaneous labout with DD at 32 weeks but that was 2 weeks after my waters had gone so it was expected and i had had the steroids etc. She's fine.

Ds was born by ceasearean after an abruption but before that i'd had an emergency cevical suture at 22 weeks which ruptured my waters. Ihad the sterids with him too and although he was quite poorly when he was born he's fine now at 17 months.

I've had several miscarriages too, I am just not a very good breeder

You've got 2 dc already, you will be fine !

CherryPie3 · 29/04/2010 17:14

And I'm very pleased to hear your children are happy and healthy despite their scary early arrival .

My dd was early but only by 5wks. ds was born at 39+6.

With my little 35wk'er - they've said I could go into labour early with any pregnancy after her, then after lasts weeks events I was told I'd be lucky to make it to 30wks . So I'm aiming for 35wks - clearly I'm halfway in denial even with a bag packed.

Thank you lifeistooshort and Worzel

I'm just waiting at work now for my dh to come and get me - bag is in the car all ready cos I'm kinda half expecting they'll want me in. And half hoping they won't!

Sorry to hear of your miscarriages

WorzselMummage · 29/04/2010 17:45

Sorry was just giving the dc some tea. They're in th bath now, i'm mning from my iPhone sat on the toilet( with the lid down)

I'm sure whdn you go it it'll be fine I've got my fingers firmly crossed for you ! X

CherryPie3 · 29/04/2010 17:53

No need to apologise hun

Thank you for crossing your fingers for me!! My phone doesn't allow me to MN but I will update as soon as I can, still at work for the time being cos I'm waiting for my hubby to come get me - shift finishes at 6 anyhow so not a problem.

Cramps thankfully seem to be easing a little although can definitely still feel the tightenings and still getting the periodic pains accross my lower back.

I've got to admit - I'm a little worried. With everything I was told last week I'm noticing every twinge and pain. Really hope they don't think I'm just a paranoid pregnant lady and think I'm wasting their time.

And even if it turns out theres nothing to be worried about, at least I'll have the reassurance right? And I'm getting my moneys worth out of the NHS

OP posts:
WorzselMummage · 29/04/2010 18:05

Of course they won't mind you going in!

It's better be safe than sorry isn't it. I think they would rather see you too much than not enough iykwim. You've already had one premature baby, no-one would expect you not to worry about having another one!

Why did your daughter come early ?

WorzselMummage · 29/04/2010 22:02

Hope all's well cherrypie x

CherryPie3 · 30/04/2010 13:41

Hi Worzel - thanks for checking in on me

Hospital confirmed that I'm not in labour, I don't have a water infection and they haven't a clue whats causing the pains - so I've been given orders to rest and not to overdo things.

Dh is looking after me bless him

So heres hoping things are ok - still cramping but theres nothing they can do, will go back if they get any worse or more frequent/regular!

lifeistooshort · 30/04/2010 20:40

Good news Cherrypie. Glad to see you got checked and that you are not in labour!

I am slightly further than you (28 weeks nearly 29) and I have had really painful tightenings everynow and again since yesterday. Don't think they are BH as I have to really stop what I am doing when it happens. They didn't occur often enough for me to go to hospital but I am keeping an eye on things...The joys of being pregnant hey!
