Just wondering how much tuna I can eat being pregnant? This is my 3rd pregnancy so you would have thought i'd know but ive never craved it before. Now all i think about is tuna & sweetcorn in my rolls on my jacket & i could have even eaten it for breakfast!

Is there a limit to my intake on a weekly basis? Ive tried to google it but cant really find much that is of any help!

Thanks v much

I think its only twice a week, but on holiday last year pg with ds2 I ate it every day tuna salad for our starter , followed by a small glass of something nice.
It was just 2 weeks out of 42 though.

Dont worry about it to much, within a few weeks you'll be onto something else

here's the advice from the website that my midwife referred me to -
"Have no more than two portions of oily fish a week. Oily fish includes fresh tuna (tinned tuna does not count as oily fish), mackerel, herring, sardines and trout."

The advice my MW gave me (and it was in the book she gave me too) was limit it to 2 fresh tuna steaks or 4 cans a week.

They tell you to limit it because it contains mercury.

Its still a fair amount you can have.

Mmmmmmmm, tuna and sweetcorn, cue Homer Simpson type drooling!!!!

Thanks for the advice. Ive been having the small tins of Tuna and so far this week ive had 2. Maybe i'll stick to that on a weekly basis until my new cravings turn up!
