I'm 36 weeks pregnant and for around 5 hours been getting cramping/mild pains in in back and in lower part of my tummy.

I've been walking around a bit today and keeps eating and drinking.

Could it be labour?braxton hicks or something else?

Any advice would be great

I think the way you are meant to be able to tell actual labour from BH is if the contractions are regular.
I would phone the day assessment unit at your hosp and see what they say, they might want you to come in for monitoring.

or...you could,like me,have a u.t.i!!

see my other thread!

i had period like pains and rock hard stomach, coupled with back pain.thought it was the start of labour but it went on for over a week and never progressed.wen t to the labour ward yesterday, they monitored me,took a sample..and that was the result.

aparantly your uterus contracts, but it is because it is irritated by the infection...still,it feels like the onset of labour.

hope this helps, maybe worth takoing a sample in to your gp tomorrow..or ring the labour ward and see what they say
