as it says really - i struggle to get off the sofa these days - worked from home today but still have 5 weeks to go at work where i will be out at client site. am on 3 iron tablets a day and these seem to have no effect any more. what else can i do/take/eat for more energy? this is my first child and so i keep thinking what if i actually another child to look after - how on earth would i cope? it is normal to be so tired? i rest lots in the evening and weekends, and even had last week off as annual leave. am used to being so active, and doing stuff as i go along, but today the breakfast dishes are still in the sink. i know its not the worst ailment to have but am wondering how am going to get through the next 8 weeks with so little energy..

This was me at 32 weeks, and the good news is that from 35 weeks I've been full of beans. It may well change so try not to get down.

Virgo sorry you are having a rough time, this was me from 17 weeks with DD and i am waiting for it to strike this time (16 weeks at mo). Nothing i (or GP) did made any difference, had days so bad i couldn't hang the washing out, worst thing was i am usually super active. However it stopped at 36 weeks and i became semi normal again, even painted the bathroom. Really hope you feel revived soon

This is good news. I'm 34 weeks and absolutely exhausted. Hopefully I'll pick up again too otherwise this baby is coming home to a pigsty!!!

I was the same with my first, I had to sleep every afternoon afer work. I remember reaching about 35 weeks and getting a burst of energy untill the end.
I am 32 weeks with my second, and not tired in the slightest this time!?
I havn't had to sleep in the afternoon once. maybe because I a only working 30hrs per week, not sure why?
But if you need to rest - then do it!!!
In 8 weeks time you will be glad of it, as you will wonder where all your time went!!

Virgo, sorry you are feeling so awful. During my 2nd pregnancy I was feeling so bloody tired I didn't know where to put myself - and you're right, it was very tough with a toddler to look after too. I would go and see your GP if I were you, have your iron levels checked again and discuss what options there are for you.

You really need to keep your strength up now as you do not want to be very anaemic and have a tiny baby to look after - it's exhausting enough as it is!

Congratulations, and good luck with the rest of the pregnancy.
