Period pain/need to poo/twinges? Sorry...

Am now overdue and desperately grasping at straws so please bear with me

In the past before my period came on I always had this kind of achey feeling which I found felt extremely similar to having a dodgy stomach and needing to poo IFYSWIM.

I am 40 +6 and have been feeling this same very mild ache on and off for the past three days. I don't need to poo (have tried), and am not constipated.

Is this a "sign" that something positive might be happening?

Also I have been getting painful twinges in what I imagine to be my cervical region. I had these very occasionally early in pregnancy but they are a lot more frequent now, especially if I go to for a walk. They are sore enough to make me draw breath but are perfectly bearable. They are also sometimes longer in duration - a twinge used to last 1 step when walking, now it can be 3 or 4. Is this a sign?

It was a sign for me last week - I had period type feelings at 7.30 am, which turned into twinges by 9.30. Still wasn't 100% sure but I called DH back from work as they were stopping me in my tracks and by 12 noon I was 6 cm dilated, baby born 3.45! It was my second though. Get that hospital bag packed! (We forgot nappies and wipes and baby clothes!)

I'd say it's a sign! May increase over a day or two. Keep walking. Good luck.
