I had high blood pressure when I had my second baby and had to stay in hospital for 2 days. Is there any possibility I could opt for an induction incase bp comes again??

Did your high BP develop as your pregnancy progressed or was it during/after labour?

I'm asking because I'm not quite sure how induction would help you avoid high BP unless it's becauase you are keen to avoid the last couple of weeks of pregnancy/going overdue.

Obviousy the best answer is "ask your midwife" but the boards would be pretty boring if we only said that

like the PP I'm wondering if you want to avoid the last couple of weeks, if that's when your problems developed before.

I've been induced twice (for post-maturity and leaking amniotic fluid), and I like to point out that it's a really tough option, I had 2 very long labours, they had to keep upping the dose of the drugs (they use to induce), as I was not dilating, and that made me very, very sick, despite injections of antiemetics. I vomited violently evey 10 or 15 mins for the last 10 or 12 hours of both labours.

By contrast ds2 was a natural labour, I awoke with strong pains, arrived at hospital half and hour later already 7cm dilated, and he was born about an hour later.

Induction may be needed for various reasons, but I'd not do it again unless it was really, strongly recomended by your consultant!
