stretching pains or something else???

hello!! im nearly 26 weeks and for the past week but much worse today iv been having really painful stretching pains/cramps across my bump...bump also goes hard and very uncomfortable and my back is aching too...my bump isnt even that big, its my first baby if thats any help?? just wondering if its soemthing worth bothering the midwife for or if i should just put up and shut up!!

Might be braxton hicks?
I would call MW for reassurance, it's what they're there for so don't worry that you're wasting her time.

Hi, it sounds like the stretching pains I'm having since week 22, on 33 now and they are still here. Some other pains I experience/d on the bump are;

• cramps with a burning sensation
• area that feels like a bruise to the touch but invisible
• area that feels numb, like your cheek after the injection at the dentist when it wears off a bit
• aching vein

All are a result off your muscles stretching and the baby pushing against nerves according to my midwife. Good luck and don't worry!

i've just had something similar at 34 weeks. i also had a spell of it around 20 odd weeks.

i put it down to the baby having a growth spurt faster than my muscles/ligaments had stretched.

it was the sort of feeling you get when (if not pg) you were to bend over backwards and stretch your abdominal muscles.

it went in a few days for me once my body had stretched enough to accomodate baby's new size i guess.

the tightening feeling in uterus sounds like braxton hicks.

I'd ring your mw and get checked out. I had the same thing this week and ended up in hospital having steroids pumped into me...grim!! All because of a UTI.

Please get checked!

hi everyone, pains eased off yesterday but came back today after id been walkinf round the shops...not cramps anymore just really sore stretching, cant walk upright its so painful...is this part and parcel of it all?? i might ring midwife in the morning xx
