Waves of pains above belly button starting to worry me

Ladies,

Earlier today I started to get these waves of pain in the middle of my stomach about an inch above my belly button and below my boobs.. they are getting more and more frequent and are actually quite sore.. anyone had anything similar?

I'm trying not to panic (previous MC but pains were much much lower in pelvis) and absolutely no spotting (touch wood, fingers crossed) but just has anyone had this?

Haven't had this but didn't want to read and run...

Definitely think it's worth calling your midwife about this (how many wks are you?)

Thanks! I'm only 7 weeks + 5 though so I'm super early but it's just so worrying.. I'll call her first thing in the morning (they close at 5

I dunno hopefully I'm worrying over nothing

Hi HappyGirl

There's another thread on here about upper abdominal pain. It is way up above the baby and probably pain in your digestive system, e.g. really painful wind (I get that in pregnancy and can last for hours). But if it doesn't settle down do call your MW just to be on the safe side. Hope you feel better.

Thanks 2ndDestiny I'll have a look.. yep it's very painful but so so glad to hear it could be something like that..

thanks so much

Was just typing out post similar to 2ndD; seems a bit early for PG to be causing an upper abdominal problem... if MW doesn't know and you're still in pain, try GP?

Upper abdominal pain could be gallstones - and pregnancy can cause them. I had them during pregnancy although was not diagnosed for another 2 years after that, so just bear that in mind.
