m 22 with a 1/32 chance of baby abnormality

I have just had the dreaded phone call from midwife to say i have a high risk of having a baby with chromosonal abnormalities with a risk factor of 1 in 32! I cant help but feel im going to have a baby that is that 1! i have a app. 2moro to have a cvs, and am petrified! i had my 12 week scan yesterday and the only marker i had was triscupid regurgitation, which means a leaky heart! Im only 22 and think b-cos im so young and now have a high risk, then its going to be a bad result. Anybody had a cvs or similar experiance? i would appreciate the replies. thanx.

Oh zara I'm really sorry you're having to go through this. Try to stay calm, and remember that you also have a 31 in 32 chance that everything is fine, which would be good odds if you were a betting person. I had a CVS last December and it was fine, a little bit uncomfortable but nothing too bad. Make sure you ask if you can have your results fast tracked so that you can get initial results in 48 hours, I think it's the waiting that is the killer.

Also why not post here as well, there's lots of lovely ladies there who really helped me through some very dark days

Hi, i had a 1/9 chance with my son when i was 19!!! i had to have an amnio.

Everything was fine, and the more i asked people the more they said it happend to them and they were fine
