Progesterone levels / early pregnancy

I wonder if anyone can help. I'm 6.5 weeks pregnant and my acupuncturist suggested that I have my progesterone levels checked just to be on the safe side and take a suppository if they're on the low side.

I've checked charts but the range is so big that if I go back to my doctor with my level (it falls in the range) they might try and put me off.

My level (at just gone 6 weeks) is 58.3nmoL/L or 18.3ng/ml (I hope my conversion is right...)

Thanks very much

x Jo

58.3 is normal. My EPU say they like to see over 40. My progesterone was a little less than yours and no-one ever mentioned supplements. At about 8 weeks it was only 33! I was worried, but as there was a heartbeat, my HCG was high and my original levels had been over 40, the EPU said it was insignificant. It's a fluctuating hormone rather than steady rising in pregnancy. I'm now 17 weeks and all is fine. Congratulations and good luck.

Thanks very much 2nd Destiny. Out of interest, were your HGC levels more than normally high?
I've got high HGC levels too...

I think they were just normally high - around 121,000 at 8 weeks if I remember. The normal range is very wide but they were within it. If you're HCG levels are up and rising that's an excellent sign

Mine are off the scale a bit - 69,000 at week 6+2 when I've read the range goes up to 56,000 for week 6....not sure whether that's reason for concern...
