I am five weeks pregnant.

I found out I was pregnant a week ago via a test kit.

However, I know have cause for concern.

It started with a small brown discharge which is fine according to early first trimester Q&A's along with spotting.

But almost a week later, starting with the brown discharge Friday, I have started to have a light Period type of discharge along with one blood clot so far and im slightly worried about an early miscarriage.

I have also had stomach cramps, which I know are also common as it can be the Uterus expanding to make preperations for a new baby, an some light bleeding or spotting can be common also.

Yesterday was the only time I had cramps and the light blood discharge started last night and is still going, but its not heavy and over the last 24 hours its probably been only enough to fill one tampon, unlike 7 I would normal use on a normal period day.

While im sitting down im fine, but if im at work and on the move it does seem to be a bit worse.

I have read many reports about people in the same boat as me online, and everything has been fine, but I am slightly worried about what is happening at the moment.

Can anyone relate to this or offer me any advice?

Do you have an Early Pregnancy Unit in your area? Or an understanding GP?

The only way to know what is happening is to get blood tests to determine the levels of hormones, which should be increasing madly at this stage of pregnancy. Or perhaps a scan, but at 5 weeks they will not see much.

Sorry that you are going through this worry, hope it works out for you.

Crossingn my fingers for you. I know how hard it is to sit and wait and hope.

One thing to remember is that no matter what you do or don't do, it will not make a difference. If you feel that you want to lie on the couch today and rest, do that but if you cannot do that don't think that you are endagering your pregnancy.

Sadly, at this early stage of pregnancy there is not an awful lot you can do except wait.

Take care.

Maybe you should stay in bed until you can go to the doctor in the morning.

Try not to worry. I'm sorry that this is happening I know how awful the not knowing can be.

Thanks Paula, I will try and rest before work and keep my fingers crossed for tomorrow
