Vagina sort of 'split' during sex with dh (35 wks pg)

Embarrassed to post this, but have tried google and haven't found any help. I'm seeing my midwife on Tues and will discuss with her but was hoping that maybe other mns know what this could be.

I'm 35 weeks pregnant with dc2. I had a third degree tear when I gave birth to ds1.

During sex with my husband yesterday, when he entered me I felt a little 'tear/split' in my vagina (the lower part of it, where it attaches to perinium). When I went to the loo afterwards and wiped myself there was some blood on the tissue.

I'm rather swollen in my vagina anyway (being pregnant) but am thinking could this be the old tear reopening (I healed well after it happened).

Thanks so much if anyone can give any advice.

Hi Ive had something similar and as im a bit swollen 'down there' too I think it was just a small tear. It healed and I mentioned it to the mw and she said it's really common. Hope this reassures you.
My MW said as least we were still doing it !!

Thank you, Vickyob. That's reassured me to hear it happened to you and your MW said it's normal. It has made me anxious about the birth though(when I wasn't before after seeing a helpful consultant) that I'm going to tear badly again, because obviously baby's head/body is going to put far more pressure on that area.

Yep, still doing it, though takes a bit more effort than usual .

Dont worry about tearing during labour Ive had 3 and all with big heads and weighing nearly 10lbs each. I havent torn with any, I did get grazing with the 1st but very minor. Good luck
