Nearly 11 weeks and the morning sickness has gone - should I be relieved or worried?

It's not really been morning sickness - just low-level, constant nausea with the occasional puke since 6 weeks. Yesterday and today I've felt just fine. Should I be relieved that it seems to be over, or worried that it's over so soon (I was expecting another couple of weeks of it at least)?

I'm hugely paranoid about having a mmc. My boobs are still sore - I keep poking them to make sure - and grim as the sickness was, I didn't mind as it was a sign that things were okay.

Amelia, I'm 11+2 and my Fertility Friend info for this week says "morning sickness may decrease".

I don't think I feel as sick this week as I was feeling previously - though have never actually vomited. And I saw a good strong heartbeat at 9 weeks.

Sorry about your mmcs Linda but I think a reduction in ms at this time is quite normal whether you're having an mmc or a continuing pregnancy.

When's your scan due Amelia? My 12 week scan isn't till I'm 14+1 grr.

sounds about right and chances are it'll come back a wee bit in waves.

Ladyemmalou83 · 17/04/2010 20:58

Id be releived (but then Ive still got it at 31 weeks, and am still waiting for it to go)

AmeliaEarhart · 17/04/2010 21:03

My scan is in 11 days, when I'll be 12 weeks and 2 days. I had an early scan at 8 weeks, and everything looked good. I have no special reason for being paranoid about a mmc, just that I can't quite believe that I might actually have a baby in November!

Heck, never thought I'd long to feel sick...

I think it's fairly normal for it to ease off by now. I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and definitely not as rough as I was a couple of weeks ago. Am on the November ante natal thread and lots of people on there have had similar experience of it going away from about 7-8 weeks but then had scans and been fine.

Nobody knows what will happen with each pg, but for now I'd just be relieved
and yes you might well find it comes back again! Eat while you can..

lovesaruby · 18/04/2010 09:20

Congratulations on your pg, Im on pg no.3 and with the first two, ms didnt wear off until around 16 weeks but this time I started feeling much more human around 10 weeks and was worried too. Im now almost 23 weeks and baby is kicking away perfectly fine. I think its normal to worry when symptoms seem to go and you probably will until youve had that scan but after that you can sit back and enjoy without feeling like youre going to vom constantly!

DomesticG0ddess · 18/04/2010 11:40

I am sure it is absolutely fine especially if your boobs feel sore. My worst period of sickness was between 6-8 weeks and by 11 weeks it was fairly low grade. I also have days throughout the whole 13 weeks where I feel absolutely fine. I know it's impossible, but you should be happy you don't feel rough.

I had an early mc in January (6-7 weeks) and ALL my symptoms disappeared before the bleeding started, along with spotting and fading lines on preg test. With a MMC, there seem to be so many variations - some people lose some symptoms, some people don't lose any.

I am sure you are fine and I doubt they will scan you any earlier if it is already booked in and you have no bleeding or pain. You might want to think about getting a doppler. I know some people don't like them, but I heard the baby at about 11+4 and it made me look forward to my 12 week scan, rather than absolutely dread it for fear of a MMC (but then this is coming from someone who paid for a private scan at 8 and 10 weeks too - I got pg straight after the mc in Jan and didn't really have a chance to "deal" with it, so have been super anxious!). Good luck!

Hi Amelia, I have my 12-week scan the exact same day as you! I will be 12 weeks on the dot that day. I am going through the exact same thing as you, I've had nausea since week 5 with very occasional vomiting. This morning I woke up and ... nothing. I ate my breakfast without feeling like crap for the first time in weeks. Very odd. And like you, I actually WANTED the nausea to be there. As horrible as it is, I see it as meaning that everything is still ok.

However, it's now mid-afternoon and I feel sick again. So it might be that the nausea is just reaching an unpredictable stage - instead of being constant, it's erratic!

I really hope your scan goes well and am sure it will.

dairymoo · 18/04/2010 18:50

I am in the same boat as well, and last week when I was 10+ weeks I did feel a bit better and not bearly as nauseaous. I had a MMC in Nov as well and so was getting a bit nervous. However, it has come back with a vengeance over the past couple of days and you may well find yours does too. When I had the MMC my boobs weren't sore (or veiny ) at all from about 7 weeks on, so I think the fact that you are still feeling discomfort is definitely a good sign.

caen · 18/04/2010 18:55

Mine disappeared at 11 weeks in my last pregnancy and I was smug that it was over and then it swiftly came back until 14 weeks. Enjoy the break

pipoca · 18/04/2010 19:25

relieved.

MumNWLondon · 18/04/2010 21:56

relieved, mine stopped at 10.5 weeks.

emsyj · 19/04/2010 09:40

I had sickness from week 6 to week 9, then it more or less disappeared overnight and hasn't returned. Sore boobs not really a noticeable symptom for me at all. Am now 32+1 and no indication that anything is amiss with my pregnancy.

NoTeaForMe · 19/04/2010 10:52

Hi, Amelia you sound quite similar to me. I am now 14+4 and had a perfectly healthy and happy 12 week scan.
I had constant nausea at the beginning and then suddenly fine for a couple of days and was worried that it meant something horrible. However within a couple of days I felt sick again, then ok, then sick, and thats still how I feel. The periods of feeling fine have got longer but I have to make sure I eat regularly!! I too longed to be sick, which I never thought I would! Weird hey!
If I were you I would feel relieved, but don't be surprised if those nausea feelings come back!
Please don't worry!

sunshiney · 19/04/2010 10:53

be relieved! my sickness went around that stage and am now 34 weeks.

mariac1978 · 03/06/2010 15:45
