Hi everyone, first post on here
I am 27 weeks pregnant and my eye sight seems to have gone?! road signs and the TV are all blurry, is this common, should I get it checked out? Also keeps getting heart palpitations which last for ages, very annoying.

I would speak to your GP about the heart palpatations. And make an appointment with an optician, I remember after having my dd I went for my eye checkup, and he mentioned something about eyes deteriarting slightly in some pregnancies but can't remember his exact wording sorry .

Hope all goes okay x

You should get checked out. Blurry vision could be a symptom of gestational diabetes. I would call your midwife.

My eyesight went complete rubbish during the middle trimester. I'm short sighted anyway but it went a lot worse really quickly. I wasn't legal to drive for a couple of weeks until my new specs came through. My eyes also kept changing shape so I can't wear contacts anymore (until about 6wks after the pg). Apparently all to do with hormones! Slightly frustrating!

RunningGuerita I have type 1 diabetes but have always had perfect eyes I was just wondering if it was a pregnancy thing and if it will disappear? I will speak to my consultant and OB when I go next week I suppose it is always best to get these things checked out.

I've heard about the eye thing, too. Your eyes are drier and they can also shift in shape, which affects the focus - which is why some people can need glasses for the first time during pregnancy. What I can't remember is if it's long-term or not, sorry!
Worth getting checked over, though, I'd think.
