I am 10 wks pregnant and I cannot be bothered to do ANYTHING! I have loads of work to do but all I can muster up is the energy to sit in bed and watch TV...luckily I have a few days off but I am feeling really guilty about it...sorry just thought I'd moan

It's not laziness - you are working VERY hard to grow a baby inside you! So I keep telling myself...

Seriously though, exhaustion is really common esp in the first trimester and some people don't realise how debilitating it can be. Stop feeling guilty, and rest and take care of yourself as much as you can.

I have laziness guilt, I am supposed to be planning for my final college project. I have hardly done anything, and I'm not even pregnant so I have no excuse!
don't feel guilty, make the most of it.

Hi lou - I am totally feeling like a lazy blob lately. Luckily I finished my master's before getting preggers...but right now all I can muster doing is waking up at 5 am, commuting over an hour to work, teaching kids all day, then I go home, cook dinner, and hit the couch...I'm in bed by 8:00! But, hey, I'm having a great time lounging around and not exercising !

Yep, feeling the same. I work 4 days but today was my day at home with DD and we haven't been out anywhere nor have I done any housework. I'm too tired to even read or crochet so I spent the time I'm not at work, looking after DD or asleep MNing or watch old SATC DVDs. It's making me feel a bit guilty and depressed but I am sleeping so badly at the moment that I can't be bothered to do anything. Usually I bake a lot too but I just can't be arsed

It's all I can do to drag myself into work at the moment.

lou19 · 16/04/2010 16:58

Daynee, sorry I am going to plead early baby brains for misreading your post, don't think you mentioned having children, still think you're a hero for dragging yourself out of bed every morning though so are you Bumperliouzzzz and all the other "can't be arsed" ladies out there...luckily my hubby is being supportive and telling me I am just following my instincts..looking forward to getting my mojo back after 12 weeks like anyone keeps on assuring me x

re sleeping badly, is anyone else having crazy dreams at the moment? most of them involve baby but some of them are pretty outlandish!

i'm exactly the same, so used to doing the usual household chores, cooking every night going to work etc... but DH had to work out what a cooker was last night ! it does get easier though, I'm 13 weeks and its getting better x

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 16/04/2010 17:08

Oh god no guilt here, I get up at 6:30am have a 2 hour nap at 12 and then go to bed at 8pm. I do the bear minimum whilst awake, showering has been regulated to every other day, EVERYTHING goes into the dishwasher, DS1 only gets a bath 3 times a week (used to be everyday). Anything that requires me to be awake after 8pm means I need extra sleep time during the day. I rotate 4 items of clothing as they are the only things that are comfortable to wear and it means I don't have to think about what to wear.

Daynee · 16/04/2010 17:16

HA HA. Lou - I don't have an dc yet - I'm working on having my first - currently 15 weeks. If I did have little ones at home, I probably would be working less!!

Also, I've been having crazy dreams too. I always did before, but now they are especially strange and vivid...a lot of sexual type dreams and dreams about babies and ruling the world and such...lol.

lou19 · 16/04/2010 17:23

looool I love it I should keep a log of my dreams but I can't remember most of them..Librashavinganotherbiscuit, I am feeling your attitude to this lazyness lark, I know it's silly but it's so nice to know there are people out there who understand.x

Hi - it really isn't laziness - I am on my second pregnancy (now at 37+6) and both times i found the first trimester absolutely exhausting. I would be in bed by 8pm regularly and feel so totally drained. Last time I was working full time but this time I had DD to look after and part time job - both as hard as each other - a lot more guilt attached this time as didn't want to deprive DD of any attention. The good news is that the second trimester was such a welcome blessing for me and both times i moved in that trimester and found stacks of energy for nest building /home making.....now the third trimster.....so tired! Good luck. x

nickytwotimes · 19/04/2010 11:25

Agree - not laziness at all.
I found second trimester quite pleasant after hideousness of first. On to third now and knackered again but as I have huge belly to show for it now, the guilt has vanished.

DorotheaPlenticlew · 19/04/2010 11:29

I am 37 weeks and feeling a bit guilty for not taking DS (2.8) out today. He is on his 3rd DVD of the morning . Having said that, he had a very active outdoorsy day yesterday and is likely to have a busy day tomorrow as well ... [excuses]

Just cannot walk very far at all with huge absurd bump and trousers that fall down; and generally feel knackered. Not long to go though!

stuffedmk · 19/04/2010 11:39

I have laziness......but no guilt lol
