Had an appointment with the consultant this morning, am 35+4 and she still said baby's head is free. Everything I read says first babies engage early, so is this now considered late? I'm quite small so worried my pelvis is too small for her head =S

Do not worry at all first1. Both my dcs heads never engaged until I was in labour. I had a natural birth with ds(1st dc) and a cs with dd because she was being awkward, facing the wrong way. I was actually under the impression that with your first the head doesnt engage early, its with subsequent dcs that they engage early. Either way, try to put it to the back of your mind and just look forward to meeting your little bundle in a few weeks time!! Also, I ahve a friend who is a sixe 6/8 and has very small hips and she has had 2 dcs naturally. Gppd luck

No two pregnancies are the same and books / internet have whats considered "normal".

My DS engaged I think about 36 weeks after weeks of the MW not being able to tell which way round he was as my stomach muscles were too tight! I could tell this as I went from not being to eat big meals (little and often) to eating normally again. I'm assuming as the baby moved down it freed up a load of room in my stomach, which was great!! Some of my friends could tell their baby's were engaged as the bump visible moved further south.

I honestly wouldn't worry. When your baby is ready to move he will do. Even now they have a habit of deciding what suits them not you!

Mine were only ever 2/5 and didn't fully engage until labour but both births were fine.

Same as TOK, not until labour
