I'VE HAD ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!

and I've still got weeks to go...

Due date is either 8th or the 17th May.
DS1 came 2 weeks early so could be anywhere between, say, 1 week from now until the END OF MAY!

I physically can't do this any longer.

Can someone tell me I won't get that much bigger/more tired/more uncomfortable in the next few weeks - even if its LIES!

I didn't have anything like this with DS1 - it was a breeze. This time it feels like its such a slog and the thought of another 6 weeks... I could actually cry.

Sorry - someone slap my face and tell me to pull myself together.

In line with the name of the thread, I have truely had enough of weeing 5 times a night! I know very soon (hopefully very very soon) we'll be up a million times a night with baby, but I think we deserve just one fab night sleep first!

My DH wont do the sex thing at this stage either. He's convinced he's going to poke her . But on your man's birthday?! I'm surprised! Then again, my man's bday is Boxing Day so you'd think over the festive period he'd be even more up for it, but I remember he definitely wasnt as baby had just started making obvious movements which freaked him out!

newmomma · 18/05/2010 11:09

Luckily I'm not too bad with the weeing thing - wasn't last time either.

But I seem to have a problem in that I can't sleep beyond 2.30am and then I wake up every hour after... Very frustrating on the odd night that DS actually manages to sleep through as well!

I honestly think I'll get a better nights sleep when LO arives - but I'm a co-sleeper for the first 4-6 months so sleeping usually isn't too much of a problem.

And at least I'll be able to LIE COMFORTABLY!!!

DH, I think, isn't interest in sex because of the logistics. To much "Ow, not like that", "hang on, let me just move this", "ooh no, don't press on that bit"... etc! Poor thing.

If I go much more overdue I'll just get him really drunk one night and hope for the best... It does seem to be a very good method for 'kicking things off'!

Lots of people keep telling me to try nipple stimulation too...
But having read up on it - you need to do it every hour for 15 minutes(!) - I don't have that much spare time - so I'll just have to sit on my rather large, and expanding more every day, arse and wait. Boo.

Just done my 1/2 hour of WiiFit in the hope a bit of exercise might help. Clutching at straws here!

I just want Thursday to be here so I get an induction date. I've had about a dozen "have you had it yet" texts. I know everyone cares and are excited but it just reminds me even more that I'm still very much pregnant!

newmomma · 18/05/2010 14:17

God, me too - never got round to the texts before what with DS coming early.

I walked round the green and park with DS - but can't believe you're managing to do ACTUAL exercise! I can hardly walk up the stairs!! hehe

Thursday will be here before you know it - you never know something may have happened before then!

P.S. I answered your 'v' pains question on the May thread... x

40+2...

OP posts:
first1 · 19/05/2010 13:17

Yup 40+2. I'm still bloody pregnant! I got excited having signs yesterday but hey, clearly I jumped the gun with my excitement. Feeling crap today. Just had a huge moan down the phone to my mum. Managed to hurl myself into the shower, only to then just throw on a pair of trackies and DH's hoodie and just eat crap in front of the telly. I wish there was just an "eject" button

newmomma · 20/05/2010 09:22

40+3...

You still here too first1??

Just chatting with a friend who reminded me that at the moment I have a wonderful routine with DS1 (16months), I have my evenings to myself (with DH) to sit and DO AS I PLEASE...

And that I (usually) get a full nights sleep even if I toss and turn a little with the heartburn/discomfort.

And how VERY different it will be when baby is here.

So trying to feel a little more positive about
being pregnant and 'enjoy' these last few days... After all it may well be the last time I'm pregnant. Ever. Sobering thought.

40+3 indeed

Just been to consultant. Baby has not engaged anymore than last week! Sweep again today but it did nothing, cervix is still too posterior. But been booked in for induction at 40+11 3pm on 28th May. Slightly longer overdue than first discussed but they said hospital policy is anything from 10-14 days so I suppose shouldn't moan.

You're right about enjoying these last few days. Surreal to think how life will be so different very soon.

Random question but, all being well baby will be out on the world I reckon on the 29th (best friends bday!)and its my nan's surprise 80th on 6th june. Whats the likelihood of us making it? It's about a 50min drive away

newmomma · 21/05/2010 09:12

40+4...

I don't see why you shouldn't manage your nan's surprise party. The drive won't be a problem as babys LOVE car rides and usually just sleep.

The only factors to consider (imo) are:

  1. Feeding (bf can take a while to get sorted and you might not feel comfortable doing it 'in public' so soon). If you're doing breast and bottle then it might be easier. Or you might be lucky and get a baby that feeds brilliantly from the word go.
  1. You should be feeling ok after a week if you've had a straight forward birth but might feel a bit sore/knackered if not.

It depends on each individual. I would say realistically you'll have to just kind of wait and see what things pan out like. But if you're determined then you'll manage it, I'm sure. Some people are out shopping the next day and others take a while longer, but you can't really gauge until you're 'there' iyswim.

NO SIGNS again for me.
You still here first1...?

OP posts:
first1 · 21/05/2010 09:24

STILL HERE!! Though I think each morning I wake up I'm resigning myself more each day to the fact she just doesnt want to come out. Think I may go for a walk into town today see if walking a few miles does anything, but as I said, not hopeful!

newmomma · 21/05/2010 09:47

How funny - my Dad is coming over today for a visit and I had decided that he can look after DS while I go for a quick march across the green and back!

Still can't convince DH to DTD - and I'm SO sure it would help...

Sweep on Monday, but hoping all hope that something happens over the weekend.

Saturday would have been DH's fave nans birthday so the whole family is hoping for a 22nd May birthday from our LO.

My gran keeps telling me that women in her day used to drink a BOTTLE of gin when they went overdue - she claims it always works!
Not sure I'm that desperate yet - although I am actually dreaming about a cold glass of champagne... I can't wait. Mmmmmm.

OP posts:
first1 · 21/05/2010 10:56

Mmmm. A cold glass of pimms on a day like today sounds like my cuppa tea! But a bottle of gin, no ta!

Fingers crossed for the 22nd then, though that is tomorrow so go and eat shit loads of pineapple!

I cant convince DH to DTD either. I've tried to tell him that the prostin pessary I'll inevitably be given is basically a type of sperm, he wont have any of it

My auntie just rang, she asked how much weight I'd put on. How rude!...3stone

first1 · 22/05/2010 09:41

40+5

You too newmomma? You've gone quiet, you best still be around too

Reflexology today, quite sceptical but we'll see...

newmomma · 22/05/2010 16:03

Still here, don't worry! Although not best pleased about it.

DH is adamant that DTD would be 'unfair' - if she's not ready why should we force her out?

I have tried telling him that she won't come out until she is ready but hadn't thought of the prostin argument - I'll try that later!

Looking forward to hearing about your refelxology!

OP posts:
first1 · 23/05/2010 09:19

40 + bloomin 6!

Reflexology was nice, very relaxing, baby went really quiet during it so reckon she was chilling out too. I told the reflexologist I'm being induced on Friday and she said that she'd "felt my uterus and fallopian tubes" and that it's gonna come sooner. [hm] But I take that comment with a very small pinch of salt! No signs at all still.

When's your next check up? I'm back on Thursday.

Enjoy the sun! (It's gonna get cooler from Tuesday thankfully, I really don't want to labour during this, maybe baby knows it's too hot so is staying put for now!)

beebee1978 · 23/05/2010 10:49

hi newmomma and first1 ive been following your thread and now cant wait myself for your babies 2 be born. im only 8 weeks so got ages yet. all the best .x

newmomma · 24/05/2010 10:29

Hiya.

Gonna just peek my head back round the door and sheepishly admit to having had a baby yesterday morning...

2 hr 14 min labour(?!?), nearly didn't get to the MLU on time after dropping off DS1 and the dog.

No time for water, popped in gas and air, pushed and here she is...

No name yet, MASSES of long black hair, no stitches or grazing for me (hooray).

She was born at 6.34 yesterday morning and we left and were on our way home by half ten! All went smoothly, if a little fast and furious.

Thanks for your interest bee,(best of luck with the next 32 weeks!) and hope you're absence speaks volumes first and the reflexology did the trick?!?

OP posts:
first1 · 24/05/2010 10:44

CONGRATS! Although very very very jealous I'm still here waiting!

How much did she weigh? Aww I'm so excited for you. But sigh, reflexology didnt seem to do much. 41 weeks today

beebee1978 · 24/05/2010 12:52

congrats newmomma

Baileysandbrie · 24/05/2010 14:24

Congratulations newmomma!! Under 2.5 hours labour is amazing! Am also very jealous - I'm 41 weeks today - had a sweep this morning though nothing happening yet. Booked in for an induction on Saturday so it's full steam ahead with the curry, pineapple and rasp leaf tea this week......... Here's hoping
(Good luck first1 too!)

newmomma · 24/05/2010 14:33

She weighed 8lbs 12.5 oz - massive!

I think it was the walk across the green that did it!

Scary though really - contractions went from every 4 mins to 2 in the car on the way and we thought we weren't going to make it in time - ran through two red lights at 80mph!!

Best of luck to you in the waiting lounge - can't wait to hear some news.

x

first1 · 24/05/2010 15:10

Good solid weight!! I'm expecting a 9+ pounder according to my 39week scan.

Loving your fast labour, quite envious! I've just resigned myself to the induction now, so here's to a long, drawnout, painful process...woop!

baileysandbrie Oo I'm 41 weeks today too, I have another due date buddy to race with . Though everyone seems to be beating me to it, so I'm sure you will too! Got my induction booked for 3pm on Friday, not looking forward to it. But had no signs at all of this baby coming out by herself. She's like her dad already, very stubborn!

beebee1978 thanks for your good wishes! I wish you all the best for the next 7months.

madcatsazz · 24/05/2010 22:50

First1 - massive good luck for this week - you have days yet to get this baby out before induction. Fingers crossed for you.

Baileysandbrie · 25/05/2010 11:49

Hi all

newmomma Good weight! I'll add walking, walking and more walking to my itenerary today!
41+1 and nothing doing... Ho hum. Ate a whole pineapple in one sitting last night .

first1 Got a feeling this baby's not coming until Saturday, so you probably will get there before me! But we've both got a few days yet for things to get moving naturally - lot's of positive thoughts called for a I think
And funnily enough, DH said exactly the same thing last night about baby being stubborn - just like him..

Nevertheless I'm off to look for 'happy' induction stories - fingers crossed!

Hope you're all well - at least it's cooler today (in the NW anyway)

newmomma · 26/05/2010 11:57
