Hi at all,
Last year I had a missed miscarriage, I was meant to be 10 weeks but showed around 7 and no heartbeat. I am now 8 weeks have been to epau due to pain, last week I measured 7 weeks and with heartbeat but I am worried as I have no sickness (never have) and soreness, I feel normal, I am worried of missed miscarriage again, but will not have next scan till next month.

I hope someone else comes along, just wanted to offer a bit of support and I hope all goes well.

I thought a missed miscarriage was where the baby never developed? If that is right, the fact you had a heartbeat should reassure?
Sorry I am probably wrong with terms etc, it's been a while since my last DC.

once you have seen the heartbeat the risk of miscarriage does fall quiet substantially

it must be very worrying for you - can you call your MW for some reassurance?

were you sent for an early scan because of your previous MMC?

You should be able to get a scan sooner. I was worried and the nurse who had seen me previously told a white lie that I had pain/bleeding to get me scanned sooner.

Hi bella
I had missed miscarriage last year and am now 28 weeks pregant so know how you feel. It is very difficult to relax and I did not relax and start to enjoy this pregnancy until my 20 week scan.
In fact I felt like i was going mad in the first trimester.
My friend is also pregnant and feels great with no sickness or soreness and she is 11 weeks with heartbeat so it doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong because you don't have many symptoms. Some people don't get sickness.
There is very little risk of miscarriage now that you have heard the heartbeat.
However, I know it is difficult for anything to ease your mind except a scan.
Is there any way they will do another one at your unit? Or could you pay to have a private scan?
I requested an early NHS scan but didn't get appointment til week 13 so I paid for a private scan at week 7 and then had an emergency scan with a bleed in hospital at week 10.
Call the midwife/epu and see if they will scan you again then think about having a private scan just to put your mind at rest. they cost about £90.
It sounds like you will be absolutley fine but it is difficult to deal with the fear factor of it happening again.

I agree with fab a white lie won't hurt to ensure they scan you.

bella8445 · 15/04/2010 14:35

Thank you messages,
I see a midwife in two weeks for blood test then I have to wait 2 more weeks for next scan. EPAU have now referred me anti-natal now due to the heartbeat being seen. As for missed miscarriages they can happen at any time its depends on when it stops growing, the body still thinks everything is ok.

I had my scan at 10 weeks last year when I had a slight bleed and went to accident and emergency and they sent me through to be scanned.

Hi, not much help I know but I had no sickness at all in my first pregnancy (DD is now three and pestering me to watch television).

SonSon · 15/04/2010 19:02

I'm on pregnancy #3 and I've not had any sickness in any of them. I've also felt quite sore in the 1st trimester I put it down to everything stretching.
