New drink discovery

In my quest to find some interesting drinks, I have discovered M&S new (I think!) alcohol free "Soft Brew" drinks. 3 different flavours, made with hops, malt & fruit, a fruit, slightly alcoholic taste, without trying to be alcohol, not too sweet. Really nice with ice, will be good for summer drinking I think.

So wanted a glass of wine this evening, and this has helped!

I got a really yummy non-alcoholic pear cider from tesco last week

But the non-alcoholic Cobra beer did not get a good review from me. Yuk!

A nice non-alcoholic drink I have loved since childhood is ginger ale and cranberry juice. Get the oddest looks from behind the bar when ordering but it is truely a delight.

As a non-drinker I'm always on the lookout for nice alternatives. The non-alcoholic pear cider is great. Shloer is good but quite sweet, Ame less so. I quite like Malzbier but decent stuff is quite hard to come by here - sometimes bigger supermarkets stock it in the foreign foods section(lived in Germany and got hooked on it!)

I can highly recommend beck's blue non-alcoholic beer... it really does taste like the real thing (to me), and perfect coming into long summer evenings... x

Ginger ale and lime cordial is v nice.

Jupiler is another very nice non alcoholic beer. There's an online shop which has good alcohol free drinks www.alcoholfree.co.uk

Thanks for the tip! The M&S non-alcoholic mulled wine got me through xmas!

Becks is the best non-alcoholic beer I've found particularly if you put a bit of lime in it like you would a corona. Cobra is nasty. Oh and the Sainsburys low-alcoholic cider (which is really low like 0.5%) is nice.

Also, there is this company www.lono.co.uk. I was very excited when I found it, but the white wine was a disappointment. I liked the red wine, although it did not taste like red wine (can't remember which I got, merlot I think). The prosecco and spumante were both nice. And the Whissin, which is pretend whiskey was great in hot toddies and with ginger beer.

Am not obsessed honest - you had to order 6 bottles minimum and this was a Christmas when I got them in for non-drinkers/drivers!
