Nagging right sided pain at 6+4 - should I worry?

Hope someone can give me some advice! I am 6+4 in my first pregnancy. I have been feeling increasingly sick to the point where I am now nauseous almost all day. My breasts are sore and I am exhausted all the time.

My worry is that I have been having the odd nagging pain in my lower abdomen and pelvis. It's mainly right sided but can be all over. I haven't had any bleeding at all. The pain had seemed to be settling down but today it is a bit more noticeable than before. It's not particularly bad, and there's no tenderness to touch.

I am due to have a private scan a week tomorrow but was wondering if other mums to be had experienced similar things?

Kitty

I experience this too - sounds identical. I was worried (I thought ""ahhh, ectopic!") and went to the GP (I hadn't had my booking with the midwife at that stage, it was at 10 weeks). He reassured me that a pulling, naggin pain on one side is completely normal (I described it to him as the feeling/slight pain when something is pulling on your hair, but just on the right hand side, fairly low down... sound right?) - aparently its everything getting all attached in there and it is normal for one side to support the pregnancy more than the other.

I am now 16 weeks - had first 12 week scan and definately NOT ectopic!

Congratulations!!!

Hi Kitty - If you're not bleeding, then you shouldn't worry. I know that's easier said than done - I've had 4 mc's, and I can tell you that the bleeding always came before the terrible cramps, and now that I'm 14 weeks, I can also tell you that what you are feeling is normal. I've had ligament pain since 5 weeks - just the uterus stretching!

Thank you ladies - I feel much better! It's just nice to know what is "normal" at this stage. Fingers crossed everything goes well for all of us!

Oh yes, I get this all the time. (Am 11 weeks). Particularly if I sneeze... or when my partner makes me laugh (which is quite often)...or when I turn over when I am in bed... or generally randomly whenever it takes the fancy!

All good stuff I think. Things are happening down there!

yep had this pon right side about 5 weeks till about 10 weeks i was in agony went to doctors 3 times, all ligament pain :-)

Hermya321 · 13/04/2010 20:19

Hey just thought I would let you know I had this as well. Seems like a lot of people get it.

GwennieF · 13/04/2010 20:47

I had a similar thing in the early stages of both of my pregnancies. Everything was fine though, I had virtually textbook pregnancies. On the second one my boobs didn't hurt though....

All the best with your pregnancy, the MS and exhaustion should subside soon.....

Thanks, me too but on LH side.

EccentricaGallumbits · 17/04/2010 10:13

can be normal.

can also be a symptom of ectopic.

don't wait till next week for your scan - get reviewed today - EPU..

I think personally that you should always seek advice from midwife or doctor when it comes to pain.

It most likely will be nothing, but I do feel it is best to be certain x

Thanks again ladies - it has all settled down now and I am more fixated on my 24 hour a day "morning" sickness! Am going to wait for my scan on Wednesday but will seek help if symptoms recur/worsen.

Kitty, it may be that you ovulated from your right ovary - if so, it will be about twice its normal size due to the corpus luteum, and possibly causing the nagging pain. I had the same thing, and when I had a scan at 8 weeks the doctor pointed it out.

Wishing you luck for Wednesday!

Kittykatzen · 21/04/2010 13:02

Had my scan today - everything looks perfect! Baby measuring a couple of days older, at 8 weeks, and we saw it in amazing detail - like looking in a book. Definitely in the right place - thanks so much for everyone's reassurance!
