Hi,

Trying to decide which is the best maternity hospital for us.

St Mary's is by far the closest for us but we've heard bad things about it if you dont get into the new birthing suite. Our other choices are Queen Charlotte's and UCLH.

Have to decide tomorrow. Any ideas which would be the best choice?

My kids were born at St Marys which was friendly but chaotic and virtually no postnatal care at all.

I'd go for Queen Charlotte's. Heard good things

Queen Charlotte's it was great when i was born there 26 years ago and still has a good rep.

I gave birth to DS at Queen Charlotte's 2 years ago and had a very good experience. Really nice midwife-led birthing centre with access to pool, but when pushing took too long and baby heartrate started to slow, they whisked me straight up to the medicalised delivery suite and got him out sharpish. Only downsides were that antenatal appointments had long queues, and postnatal care was a bit patchy (that's not unusual I think though)

Heard good things about UCH too, don't know anything about St Marys.
