Baby Monitor recommendations please

As the subject says could anybody recommend a good baby monitor?

We don't want anything too flash or OTT (i.e. not the video/motion ones). Just a more simple walkie talkie type one that doesn't pick up any interference. A decent range would be good too.

Any suggestions are much appreciated...thanks x

I used one of these (although the price has gone up about £5 since we bought ours a few years ago) and it was inexpensive for a monitor, sturdy and did the job.

i love the bt digital ones - mines the slightly less expensive bt 100. using a digital signal rather than the old school aeriel type means a really clear sound and no interference. you're looking at £40-£50 new depending on where you go but in my opinion a decent baby monitor is a must-have.

This is the one we've got, so another vote for the BT digital ones. No interference at all, tells you the temperature in the baby's room which I have found really useful (our house gets REALLY cold in the winter), and has a good signal right at the bottom of my FIL's enormous garden

Yep, another vote for the bt digital 150 - u can plug yr iPod into it as well if u want a break from the muffin man et al

I have these Lindam ones which are great. They are analogue rather than digital, but have never had any interference at all. For a cheaper alternative they are great and have lasted YEARS,mine about 4 years old now and still going strong.

Also have these digital ones by Tomy (need 2 sets, still using Lindam ones) and it is excellent. Was going to buy the BT one the other posters are recommending but read awful reviews so went for the Tomy in the end.

Does anyone know if you can use two bt 150s in the samehouse (one for ds and one for next baby) - or do they interfere? (Sorry for thread hijack)

hmm, not sure about that one. they may not interfere as the signal is specific to that monitor - the way its transmitted is different to analogue in that respect - but im not 100%. i think it warrants some further research.

also - didn't know you could plug your ipod into the 150 - if only we'd paid the extra tenner for it, that sounds like an awesome feature!

we have a tommy one that was about £40 from Tesco, never had a problem with it and if you don't mind burning batteries you can even take your end in the garden

We've got two BT digitals, and no, they don't interfere. We've also used both of ours when staying at a friends who also had two BT digitals - four in the same house, and they were fine. Was interesting trying to work out who's was whose though
