hi there i did post on childbirth but thought id ask here too !
just wonder'd i had DS3 ( DC4 ) an retained part of my placenta for a week, an was rushed in with pph an the placenta was removed. i was on iv for 3 days after .
DD2 (DC5) i had her in less then a hour an had a big bleed straight after , i had to have a hormone drip put up to close my uterus.
so i was wondering will somthing like that happen again ?? has any one had problems after birth then had a "normal" birth again?

I had a forceps delivery followed by a PPH of 1500 mls after DS was born, followed by 2 hours of being sewn up in theatre and then a blood transfusion about 24 hours later.

DD was born 22 months later and I was nervous but everything was fine, I only had a tiny graze and didn't need any stitches.

I had a fully retained placenta that had to be removed in manually. Apparently there is a strong possibilty this will happen again for me, I will know more when I speak to my consultant.

I am not sure what the risk is when only part of the placenta is retained, I would discuss it with your mw. Don't be too concerned as you have had it before, they will most likely be more alert when checking the placenta to be sure it is all present and correct x

Sorry can't help on pph, I was lucky enough not to have one of those. I am pretty sure they will be aware of your previous history and monitor you closely throughout x
