Hi, Last night and today I have been having which can only be described as sharp shooting pains really low down like where my cervix is. It feels like they shoot out of me almost like an electric shock. It can be really painful. Just wondered if anyone else has had anything like this, thankyou

Hi am 36+2 and have had same on and off all day today.

I also had that starting around 35-36 weeks at times. i'm convinced it was pain as baby was leaning on or punching my cervix! However i cannot be sure as I can't say I have ever experienced cervix pain before. I'm sure it is all okay as long as it isn't causing you constant pain , good luck

thanks, its so horrible hardly slept last night due to pressure from the baby. I'm also leaking alot of dicharge today and still getting the sharp pains. At least I shouldn't have to much longer.

Hi, when i saw the midwife at 36 weeks she said sharp shooting pains down there were perfrectly normal. I've had these every now and then, they are certainly painful when they come!
Fingers crossed for you.

i had the same with my last pregnancy from 35 weeks. midwife told me its the cervix thinning and getting ready for the birth, also the head pressing on the cervix. i explained it as shooting pains into my vagina.

ive started getting it again this time but i am only 34 weeks. if it is constant then get it checked but if it comes and goes i would assume that it is your cervix getting ready. good luck with your baby
