How long on average does it take to conceive? I feel sick at these ppl who dont even want children, but just are careless about contraception, then get pregnant immediately and then there are people who are desperate to conceive but can be trying for months, even years to have a baby.

It can take up to 18 months and be within what a doctor would call a normal period, or it can happen right away, everybody's different, it's a really nasty waiting game!

It took me 2 months and then 4 months and I count myself incredibly lucky!!

i was 5 months with jess and first month of trying this time - im also VERY lucky. Hope it happens for you soon x

well i took 14 months (althou the first 5 months I don't count as the pill was in my system then the next 6 months DH was away) so really only 2/3 months, v v lucky. my dr allowed me to have tests after 6 months TTC thou.

the girls on the april showers are all lovely.

It took me 12 months, I had already booked a date to check my fertility. I have had Endometriosis in the past so I knew it would happen over night. Just be patient. I actually became pregnant when I stopped worrying if I ever would!

took me 12 months or so with the first and 14 months with the second!

Both times first month of trying, which was a shame really as was enjoying myself!
