I've got nasty blocked sinuses and the pharmacist said it was fine to take Otrivine decongestant spray even though I'm pregnant. I've taken one dose but am wary to take any more especially after looking on web. I'm about 23 weeks.

Can anyone throw any light on this issue?

Thanks,x

I would be suprised if the pharmasist would give you incorrect information. I would ring your gp practice and see if you can speak to a gp on the phone and ask them, or ring your midwife x

I have heard of this before. I think because it's a topical drug it's not as problematic as taking oral decongestant. Don't quote me though.

NHS Direct told me the same (at 33 weeks with bad sinusitis) but to keep use to minimum. Had my daughter 2 days ago and she seems fine to me.
