Before i knew i waqs pregnant i took canasten oral...

I am so worried now. We weren't planning on getting pregnant and i had no idea i had got pregnant but i was suffering so i took canasten oral/ due about 3-6 days after conception. I only did a test recently so just found out i am pregnant (must only be about 2 weeks). I've been on the canasten website and it just says 'must not take if pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to concieve'. A bit late for me now though.
I just wondered if anyone else had taken it before knowing they were pregnant ?
Although i'm maybe looking for reasurance i won't get, as i've been googeling and haven't found any.
If anyone has been in this situ it would be good to know i'm not alone.

Call the pharmacy and they will be able to reasure you. It should be fine if you were that early on but if you want peace of mind I owuld give the pharmacy a wee call.

I don't know why, but I'm sure I recall having heard about people using Canasten in the full knowledge that they were pregnant.

As Bargain says, call the pharmacy for reassurance. I'm sure at that early in the game, it won't be a problem.

I think i might pop into Boots at the weekend and ask.

I used sudafed and others meds before knowing as I pg, mw wasn't concerned at all just told me not ot take again. Why don't you wait til your booking in appt, and see if you can hurry it up if its a while away. It's likely to be a very, very small change of doing any harm.

Took it, must have been within first 2 weeks of conceiving thinking about it.

If you think about it, all you can take officially while pregnant is paracetomol, it's just medical companies covering their arses in the teensy tinesy event something does go awry.

I'll make you smile though- when I did the pg test and it was +ive, then had a scan with a tiny little lentil thing showing, my Mum said, "are you sure it's not that hooooooge thrush pill you took at Christmas just got lodged in your womb!"

Do as pp has said, and check with your pharmacist or at booking in. But try not to worry, hard though it is.

Try not to worry it's done now... and as other said changes of it making a difference are miniscule. Mention to GP when you go to tell them you are pregnant.

I had a dental xray day before I did pregnancy test with DS.... so of course worried loads but it didn't affect him.

My husband pointed out that loads of people must do and take things before knowing they're pregnant and i guess he and others are right.
Think i'm overly worried as i already have a severly disabled child (born with a terminal condition)and i'm now worried that i may have harmed this developing embryo (as i guess it is atm being such early days).

I was prescribed canasten when I was pregnant, but it was tablet (not for mouth) and cream. So not sure about oral ones though. Like your hubby says there are plenty of people who take things, or drink alcohol before they know they are pregnant.
