Do you think that doing this spa experience thing would be safe at 18 weeks?

Its being organised by a group of friends and, much as I would like to go, not sure I will be able to get much out of it. I thought that steam rooms etc would not be safe because the baby can't regulate its own heat (i.e. I shouldn't get too hot or cold!)

Don't think your supposed to go in steam rooms or hot tubs during any point of pregnancy.

no. saunas and hot tubs are definately a no go during pregnancy...such a shame because would have been lovely. im sure the sactuary provides lots of other things u could do though? x

Oh blast! Still, at least I can explain why I can't go later today - they are work friends and I am telling work at a meeting today!

I haven't looked at the particular experience they're booking but the Sanctuary is a lovely place to spend the day and they do offer pregnancy specific treatments so you may find something you could do.
The relaxing areas are also lovely and if you fancy a day of relaxation it's a great place to go.

saunas and steam rooms are def out because they are supposed to make you hot but if the spa pool isn't any hotter than a bath you'd sit in then that would be ok esp if not for too long - plus lovely swimming pool would be nice.

You might find your entrance fee is reduced when pregnant - it is at centreparcs spas on the basis you can't use much x

My best friend had a spa hen - I was in first trimester. Avoided hot tub, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna - did enjoy a nice swim and a pregnancy suitable massage.

I spent last weekend at a health spa with friends for a hen weekend.
Couldnt use the steam room or sauna, but loved the heated pool and sitting with them dangling my feet in the jucuzzi!

I also had a lovely pregnancy back and shoulder massage. It was bliss

Should of added that I was 33 weeks.

You may have cried off by now... I have been to the sanctuary and there are plenty of things you can do, pools and chairs to sit about it and relax with your friends. I would try and get a bit of a discount if you can, but think it is still a nice thing to do. Especially if you can get yourself up on that swing (if they still have it)!
