6 weeks but no real symptoms

I'm 6wks today according to dates and almost wishing I had morning sickness. I don't "feel" pregnant, as I don't need to pee more, don't have morning sickness and not constipated (sorry). Is there anyone else who is like this? The only real signs I do have are slightly tender boobs and bit of extra round the waist, but that could well be the Easter eggs. xx

It can get confusing the weeks, some would say im in week six as im 5 weeks and 1 day where as some other would say 6 weeks.

im not 6 weeks until monday

EmmieA · 06/04/2010 20:39

Ah ok, I see, and are you counting from first day of full flow of period or the first signs of it? Thank you! xx

From the first day of lmp.

Although im only 25 day cycle - hmmmm does this make a difference?

EmmieA · 06/04/2010 20:50

Yes.and no, it doesn't affect how pregnant you are but does affect due date, as I'm 30 days so bit longer then you would be. It's all so confusing, I have no idea how I'm going to get through another 6 weeks before a scan. Any tips? Also, are you telling people? (Thanks, it's really helpful to have someone who is almost the same amount pregnant) x

So EDD are based on 30 days cycles?

Everyone knows our end.... We MC last June, and my closes friends have had the inns and outs of our journey since..

It is my birthday in a few weeks and we also have many mahy events planned so there is no way i could keep quiet.

The day i tested my friend had already text to see what the lastest news was - i couldnt lie, they have all be soo supportive its been a joint venture!

we mc at 14 weeks so to us that 12 week mark beens nothing, so we chose not to sit on the edge of the sofa stressing for 8 weeks and let our friends and family know , besides if anything happens i will need their support, rather than well we were pregnant but....

xx

I had 2 children and had hardly any symptoms. No morning sickness, no sore boobs, no contractions, no transit issues with DS. Nothing. 2 healthy children though.

EmmieA · 06/04/2010 21:01

No, my EDD is but yours will be based on your cycle...i think.

Sorry to hear that and you are right, positive mental attitiude is the way to go and what will be will be. I am out saturday at the grand national but hoping to keep it quiet from all but our closest friends. I've told sister and parents and same for hubby but that's it but can't see that lasting, just too hard. Is this your first pregnancy? How old are you hun? I'm 30 and it's my first, obviously from my silly questions!!

It's a difficult time and obviously no-one can guarantee anything for you but what I can tell you is that there are hundreds (well, maybe dozens) of these threads. I even wrote one myself first time round. Then the morning sickness, tiredness, insomnia and all the other pregnancy joys hit and you will be moaning on here about it! Honestly, try not to worry. And you may not get any symptoms at all, but things could still be fine.

EmmieA · 06/04/2010 21:05

Thank you, I'm sure you're right. Sorry I know I'm being really predictable and worrying, just have to have a PMA and what will be will be, thanks

Its an old tradition the 12 wk mark and it's a miracle to even get to this position so were intend to celebrate getting this far. Like you say what will be, will be ! I'm not going to live in fear for the next 6 weeks keeping a big secret like it's shameful !

This is our second pregnancy with the first mc at 14 weeks, I'm 26 and my husband is 32, bless him love him loads

I remember posting this exact post on Mn a few years back. A fortnight later I was hacking up into the toilet every 2 mins

EmmieA · 06/04/2010 21:09

You are so right, I'm going to take a leaf out of your book, thanks xx and good luck xx

I didn't mean to be patronising with the old 'it's been done before', it was meant to be reassuring , sorry if it sounded patronising. Honestly I know how you feel and remember feeling the same, however I am 16 weeks and in the throes of miserable symptoms so can't help but grumble 'make the most of it'.

Of course it is a worrying time when you don't know what is going on, and unfortunately it is the time when the MWs and GPs just leave you to it as there is not much they can do either way at this stage.

You shouldn't need to worry unless you have any untoward symptoms like bleeding or cramps. Missed miscarriages (where the baby stops growing/is no longer alive but you body hasn't yet responded) happen, but they are pretty rare I think. They seem more common when you read about them on here though.

I'm sure all will be fine. Tell whoever you want, I could never keep it to myself, it's a huge deal.

LittleCedar · 07/04/2010 09:14

Hi All - I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and have had no real symptoms yet...which worries me. I did have tender breasts but that comes and goes it seems.

I keep worrying that my hormone levels are dropping...poor DH asks me every five minutes how my breasts are! I got so worried I took another preg test on Monday (a digital one)...it said pregnant 3+ which means I am over 5 weeks. That should have put my mind at rest but no tender breasts today and I feel fine. Eek!

Interesting to read that some of you have told your family/friends...we have chosen not to just yet and easter was a struggle to keep quiet!

TarheelMama · 07/04/2010 09:21

Hi there. I mc last year early on (6-7 weeks). When I got pregnant this time (now 37 weeks), I worried everytime a symptom appeared/disappeared. I didn't feel sick/tired at 6 weeks. By 8 weeks though, I was queasy nearly every day. The odd day that I didn't feel that way, I stressed out, so I get where you are coming from. Easy to say don't worry about it, much harder to actually do! Good luck and congrats

nunnie · 07/04/2010 11:23

I didn't get any symptoms until 6 weeks this time, and 8 weeks last time so I wouldn't be too concerned some people don't get morning sickness at all lucky people.

I am 10 weeks (and I am 10 weeks, not 9+ however many days, or in my 11th week, I am 10 weeks) I prefer to date myself in weeks not weeks and days, and I prefer to call it the week I am in not the week I am leading up to easier to keep track for me.

Fingers crossed the nausea will set in for you and will set your mind a ease soon x

nunnie · 07/04/2010 11:27

I forgot to say, I have told people, as I have struggled to get pregnant with both mine and had a loss early on (which isn't classed as a mc due to it being before 6 weeks), took me 4 years to fall pregnant with dd and over 2 years with this one, I got over excited and told people as I was bursting with joy. I did regret it afterwards to be honest but there's no point in regreting once it is done.

EmmieA · 07/04/2010 13:17

All advice extremely gratefully received, thanks all. I'm now goign to just keep occupied and think positive for a while xx
