Hello,

5 days till EDD with DC (birth child) no 4.

Getting really fed up with all the pains I am getting, mostly at night.

I am used to full on braxton hicks and had them from early on with DC3 and this one. For me they have always been tightenings across abdomen. Not painful but stop you in your tracks IYSWIM.

These pains are like period pains/early contractions. Not going anywhere though an I have been having them for at least a week. Last night kept waking me up and I wouldnt have been suprised if the had led to something. But they didnt!

I dont tend to get any signs of labour till I am well established i.e. show and waters breaking.

Anyone else had this? Are they BH but stronger because this is my 4th?

One of mine was a week before EDD but others 3 days over.

Stupid rambling post because of course the only way I will know is to wait and see. Just wondered if this is some sort of prolonged prelabour, labour (secretly hoping I am slowly dilating as we speak )

hi, i was like that with ds3 from 35 weeks on an off , i had him at 39 weeks in the end!
good luck!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 06/04/2010 15:28

Ah Che What a pants night!

My nesting urge has arrived today and while I am nesting about I get very strong, but short lived conractions and today I am also experiencing delightful 'bum pressure' which is a new one for this pregnancy.
Also notable increase today in 'secretions' shall we say?

Am 39wks on Thursday when I am off to see the consultant. Think I am just winding myself up thinking I might pop early.

chegirlWILLbeserene · 06/04/2010 15:57

I am getting the bum thing too Lady

I was quite cheerful this morning, loads of energy and really HAD to do those jobs. So I was full of hope that this was 'it'.

Now I am just getting a pain in the bum every hour or so

Painful enough that I have to wriggle about but very short.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I am SO irritiable I can hardly concentrate long enough to type this grrrr.

hello, I am only on number 3, but am equally watching for every little sign and or twinge that might indicate DC3 is on the way.
Last night was up and on line at 2.30 reading mumsnet and the server was switched off so couldn't read or post - not helping my insomnia. every time i feel baby move i think "no you are supposed to stop moving when labour imminent" - is that right? I can't remember, but because it is still moving ai ahve convinced myself that it is not coming soon. DD is 9 April. Getting back ache, feeling grumpy. Really hope is soon as am v bored waddling about and being grumpy and want to move on to the babat part now....

fiveisanawfullybignumber · 06/04/2010 17:39

Hi there, I'm 34 weeks with DC5 and my BH have been very strong, stopping me in my tracks sometimes. IMHO they do get worse with each subsequent PG, as do the afterpains.
Hope it doesn't take too much longer for you. Good luck.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 06/04/2010 18:32

Miserable nearer the end isn't it ladies?

I have suddenly had the urge today to wash clothes ready for baby and sort my house out which has fallen into chaos the last 2 weeks as I have felt like doing nothing more than laying on the sofa - especially over Easter with DH home to look after kids.

I have half done it (annoying woman turned up to 'discuss my rent account' holding me up) and suddenly feel really really sick.

Oh joy.

To add to my irritability and general fed-upness.

chegirlWILLbeserene · 06/04/2010 20:10

I feel I have done some sort of public service starting this thread.

Moan away the lot of you!

I dont really know what to do now.

I am having pains quite close together but they are very short. In a quandry. Not in a hurry to invite the medics into the house but dont want to leave it too late.

I do feel a wally!

How are you now Che?
In the thick of it I hope.

I still feel terribly sick and have 'the' back ache - but I also had it earlier - to the point where I was very tempted to take some paracetamol for it but didn't want to as I wanted to keep track of it iyswim?

It went away. And has sddenly just come back - like a switch being flicked on.

Rolf · 06/04/2010 21:23

Oooh, this is exciting! With my 4th, I had strong BH for weeks before she actually arrived, which was a bit frustrating, but when I did start labouring properly it was very fast.

Good luck

woollyjo · 06/04/2010 21:40

Hope its all happening for you Che

fidelma · 06/04/2010 22:08

Let us know how you are getting on.[jealous emotion]

chegirlWILLbeserene · 06/04/2010 22:16

I just called the midwives.
They should be round in the next half hour or so with my gas and air.

I dont know if they will stay I suppose it depends on the state of my downstairs region.

I have just tracked down my 16 ds who was not answering his bloody phone and shouted at him to get his arse home.

I told him I was having a baby and didnt need to be worrying about him and he didnt really get what I meant until I mentioned labour

He is on his way home now.

I feel so normal between these contractions and then the bloody hurt!!!

[jealous]

Sodding emoticons!!

chegirlWILLbeserene · 07/04/2010 06:57

Goodmorning.

Rudy Asa Cassius Hendrix arrived at 4.22 am at HOME

Seemed horrid at the time but looking back it went very well and pretty quick. Rudy was born in the caul which is supposed to be lucky.

I had two midwives who were wonderfully calm and soothing. Just what I needed.

Rudy is beautiful and fed right away.

Am still buzzing hence the early update.

Congratulations Chegirl, switched on especially to see how you had gotten on.

Feeling all warm and fuzzy for you.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 07/04/2010 07:15

Ah Che that's wonderful!

DS2 is a 'Caul Bearer' too! Happens about one in a million apparently!

Great news. Am now very, very !!

katgod · 07/04/2010 08:12

well done. maybe thinking about your new babay will set the rest of us off?

sweetkitty · 07/04/2010 08:35

Oh congratulations Che second baby boy I have heard of being born today.

I am 36 weeks with no 4 so can fully appreciate the moaning on this thread. I cannot imgine holding this baby in another 4 weeks at least, I feel his head is popping out and I am keeping my nether regions in with my pants, the pressure is unbearable at times, loads of BHs as well.

I went overdue with nos 2 and 3 as well so expecting to again.

fiveisanawfullybignumber · 07/04/2010 10:33

Congratulations Che, all over now! Hope you're feeling much more comfortable now.

whirleywoo72 · 07/04/2010 10:56

hi mate, well im on my 4th, got 5 months left, and my mw said when i was having my 3rd, i thought i was in labour and she said the more you have the further you drop, so i was 3cm without trying,or being in labour so i will automatically be a few cm before labour, and the 4th is the quickest and fastest.
good luck xx

fidelma · 07/04/2010 21:48

CHE well done to you and little Ruby. What are your other DC and what ages are they? (nosey cyber friend)

gibbberish · 07/04/2010 21:50

How lovely, congrats Che

Gorgeous name too. Glad it all went well.

NotanOtter · 07/04/2010 21:57

Che fabulous news !! Well done you star

Great name for a delicious fourth born boy !!!

DS 1 was born in a caul also and has been a dream child

much love from Otter household x

LadyOfTheFlowers · 08/04/2010 15:29

Am feeling a bit better after my consultant appt today as he decided I don't need to be induced any earlier than the next lady if I go overdue and I am pretty confident I can coax her out within the week following.

Maybe not worrying about that now will get things moving? PMA and all that?!
