Am just asking as I have felt shite for 2 months now, an exhausted, my tummy is fluttering (feels just like baby wrggling and kicking) and I have continual mild abdominal ache along with a lot of pressure and a bit of swelling of my ladybits! Boobs not sore though, like previous 2 pregnancies.

However, I have had very normal periods since DH and I managed to actually get the time to jump on each other, that would be back in January!

What could it be?
I haven't done a test, mainly because I am shite scared, I have been lo-carbing for 3 months and lost 2 stone so if I am indeed pregnant I have messed up majorly!

I know someone who had a baby in the middle of the supermarket. She had been told she couldn't have children, so never suspected anything.

Personally know of two. One was the still at school, slim, Saturday girl at the Hairdressers. When she collapsed in pain they thought it was a burst appendix!

The other was late forties and assumed that her weight gain and lack of periods was due to the menopause until her doctor thought otherwise.

I've just spoken to Mum again and apparently the boyfriend of the girl who gave birth yesterday suspected that she was pg but didn't ask as he was worried she would be offended if it was just weight gain .

I have to admit to being skeptical, but I don't know the person myself so I can't say for sure.

sounds more like denial doesn't it

I mean if everyone around her could tell it was hardly a hidden pregnncy was it?

she's made life much harder for herself carrying on like that though, now she's got a tiny baby and isn't organised at all.

I was thinking that re: denial, and I bet lots of other "surprise" babies are denial too.

And I bet a lot are quite overweight which masks the bump.

I mean if an acquaintance suspected on seeing her fully clothed at 5.5 months then it must have been obvious to the women herself by 8 months?

I had lovely pregnancies, none of the puking and illness, just glowing and nice - and I'm still sceptical that you can't know. Maybe it's possible that it was denial as some posters suggest. I think if a person is quite overweight they wouldn't notice the bump but I wonder if it's possible to not even have an inkling that they could be pregnant?

Saw on another forum that someone had given birth at home without even knowing that she was pregnant. Some people were going "OMG you're so lucky" etc. Lucky? Really?
