Am just asking as I have felt shite for 2 months now, an exhausted, my tummy is fluttering (feels just like baby wrggling and kicking) and I have continual mild abdominal ache along with a lot of pressure and a bit of swelling of my ladybits! Boobs not sore though, like previous 2 pregnancies.

However, I have had very normal periods since DH and I managed to actually get the time to jump on each other, that would be back in January!

What could it be?
I haven't done a test, mainly because I am shite scared, I have been lo-carbing for 3 months and lost 2 stone so if I am indeed pregnant I have messed up majorly!

skin darkening- nope, not that she noticed (but then I didn't get that either)

weight gain- yes, but she thought she was just getting fat; there was no bump, she just 'filled out' in her middle.

baby movements- she says she felt nothing; but then you wouldn't know the feelings were a baby moving unless you knew you were pg IYSWIM? And with no bump, there were certainly no visible movements. Perhaps she felt something, but she has not been pg since, so she may recognise the feelings of movement when she is pg for the second time (and hopefully knows about it!)

hair- she didn't notice a change. I'm not sure I would have noticed a change if I didn't know i was pg TBH.

bladder- she says she's always weed a lot , and it retrospect it was more frequent towards the end; but if you don't know you're pg, you wouldn't think you were from needing to wee more than normal.

She was in shock for a long time after she gave birth; fine now, but hard to get your head around at the time...

Sorry but I still think it's a psychological cover - there are SO many symptoms and whilst I agree that some women remain very slim or with a non-noticeable bump the kicking? Seriously, you'd only have needed to watch Aliens once to be phoning the doctor in tears. The puking, the nausea, the loss of balance, the loss of bladder control , the skin (bad in my case), the hair (good), back pain, baby kicking elbowing and scraping its fingers down the side of my uterus, discharge, tears, emotions, etc., etc.

DomesticG0ddess · 06/04/2010 09:24

Congrats on your weight loss!! Lo carbing might lead to feeling exhausted? If you think you would have conceived in January then you wouldn't be feeling the baby move yet?

I can understand people not knowing up til about 5/6 months. Beyond that how on EARTH is it possible unless you are the size of a house to begin with. Even then, it is not the same as being fat!

Anyway, it is now Tuesday, so HinnyPet have you bought a test??

slowgraffiti · 06/04/2010 09:31

skihorse, I can only tell you that she didn't know. She really didn't.

She was 25 and in a stable relationship. Hardly a 14 year old Catholic schoolgirl

You don't realise how many of those feelings/symptoms you attribute to a being a baby kicking etc. because you know you are pg.

Not everybody has the same symptoms. Puking/nausea, although common is not experienced by everyone, nor is the hair thickening/skin changes/nipples leaking (mine didn't).

Still, I'm not on a mission to convince you that it happened, because it did. I was as sceptical as you before it happened to her.

skihorse · 06/04/2010 09:35

I don't believe it and as you suggest, I remain sceptical! ... as does my own midwife. I think perhaps you're underestimating the power of the sub-conscious.

In my first five pregnancies I knew I was pregnant at 3/4 weeks.
About 3 months ago I had been having some irregular heavy bleeding, I didn't realise I was pregnant until I passed a sack and the bleeding then subsided and my period returned to normal. I think because I had a coil it all felt different and also I wasn't at all expecting it.

slowgraffiti · 06/04/2010 09:44

Gah.

I changed my name for another thread and now I can't change it back

But I guess you know it's me

Not sure I like the aspersions you're casting on me because it happened though... perhaps you might like to concede the slight possibility that it may happen to someone? No? No, right. It must be my 'underestimating the power of the subconscious' Or something.

legscrossed · 06/04/2010 09:55

tethersend · 06/04/2010 10:01
