Really breathless today - should I be worried?

Hi

This is my third pregnancy and I'm 30 weeks. I've felt a bit breathless off and on for a while now but today it's been dreadful. I've had a couple of episodes where I've felt so breathless I'm worried I'm going to pass out. Lying down (on my left side) hasn't helped, neither has sitting up or walking around, it just passes by iself eventually.

My iron levels have just been tested and they are 'borderline' - 10.7 so I've been prescribed iron tablets which I started taking a couple of days ago.

Is it just the iron levels do you think?? Or the baby wedging itself up in my lungs - it does feel quite high up!

My DH thinks I should go to the DR tomorrow if it continues but if it's just a pregnancy thing I don't want to bother them.

TIA

Not just a pregnancy thing is crap. Get yourself to the doctor. Call the midwife. Hope you are okay.

low iron does make you breathless but also I was breathless throughout my previous 2 pg and my iron was not low. I saw the GP several times about it and never got to the bottom of it. I'd see the GP or MW if I were you.

Thanks both of you. If I'm as breathless tomorrow I'll go to our walk in place and get checked over.

I was a bit like this with my first child and the midwife said it was low bp but my midwife this time round didn't agree that low bp could cause it - and said mine was fine anyway.
