Can I still have sex???

I had a sweep 4 days ago and a show 2 days ago but nothing since. Can I still have sex or is it just not worth it? I am 40+3 weeks.

Yes, as far as I was told it's only if your waters break that, as another MNetter put it, you should be 'nil by vagina'!

In fact my midwife told us to go for it when I was very overdue with ds2 as the sperm can help soften the cervix, and get things going!

It's only risk of infection after your waters have broken, good luck I hope things start for u soon x

Have sex if you want to. No studies have ever shown a proven link between sex and the start of labour so don't do it just because you hope it'll start things off. Otherwise, if waters are intact, then nowt to stop you should you fancy it.
